I'm planning on coming out to my sisters this weekend when I hangout with them. I'm going to finally tell them that I'm transgender. I'm trying to think about what I will say to them when the time comes.

I'm planning on coming out to my sisters this weekend  . . .

Jenna my older sister just *laughed* said "tell us something we don't already know"! Father mentioned something 'bout "hill of beans" and chimed "love and support you regardless"! Been invited to sister's family reunion in Las Vega end of this month *all expenses paid* and only thing she's worried 'bout is lol "don't smoke cigs around the kids"!

Told her I'd be in best dress & behavior! ( Her daughter is busy couldn't make it so I'm doing fill in ) You've prolly struggled with this long time so *avoid shock effect* and just give 'em time to get used to the idea!  ;D  ;)
"But it's no use now," thought poor Alice, "to pretend be two people!
"Why, there's hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!"

Good luck!!! And please let us know how it went...

My sisters first comment was: I always wanted a bigger sister, now we can finally swap clothes...

Hugs,

Sarah

I came out to my sisters today, it went very well they were all very accepting of me. My oldest sister wasn't even that surprised to hear I'm transgender. It was a very good day today.

@Jenna92
Dear Jenna:
This is so good to hear this good news.
You could not have hoped for a better outcome....

It is no surprise that perhaps one of your siblings may have already been aware of your transgender leanings.... there are many things that can give unsuspecting clues to those that are close to us....

I do not have any siblings but if I would have had a sister near my age when I was growing up at home, I would have been into to her clothes and shoes when she was not looking... but I am certain that she would have noticed that things were disturbed in her closet that would have caused her to develop suspicions!!!!

Again, I am so glad that things went well for your coming-out announcement to your sisters.
Thank you for updating us and for sharing.
Best wishes to you,
Danielle

Hooray! Hooray! Hooray! @Jenna92 your oldest sister's response is what I was hoping for from my spouse's brother. I want to hear more stories about my spouse's childhood, things he forgot. He's great at remembering the little things that meant a lot to him as he was discovering that he didn't fit in his body. I was hoping that his brother would have more to add, and be a source of gender affirmation. He was more concerned than affirming. Concern is good, though.

The woman hiding behind my husband's facade gradually revealed herself to just me.
Fall 2018 my sweetheart's coming out full time! :icon_female:
She began HRT but had adverse reactions, so gave up on coming out to protect her health.
Summer 2022 I went through gender confirmation surgery as a result of cancer.
2024 her cardiologist and a therapist wrote letters approving of resuming HRT, and now she's getting on the calendar for surgery!
