For those that have had Meta/Meto (bottom surgery), do you still feel the need to pack?  Even with a small packer?

I ask this because I recognize that we will never have as much "down there" as a cis man.

Do you still feel the need to have a very visible bulge?

Do you have enough after surgery to have a bulge?

Is the bulge you have enough?

Does it show through skinny pants?  Swim trunks?  Underwear?

There are enough cis men around that don't have a big bulge!  Manly hood in the male world is not judged by the bulge you have in your underwear!

I understand that on an intellectual level, but with today's fashion being skinny pants, I'm wondering if some men still feel the need to pack, despite having had a meta/meto.  Thus my line of questioning.

Even with "not having a lot," it is still evident when a cis man has something in their pants.

I suppose I'm also asking men who have had a meta, if there is something in their pants that shows afterwards?  Even if they haven't had a scrotoplasty.

I get the feeling you FtM guys are focused on that bulge the same way,  as we MtF girls are focused on the size of the boobs!   >:-)

I don't know about other FTMs, but I want something in my pants to show I'm male, even if its silicon.  Size doesn't matter, but I have to admit, I like my nice-sized packer.  ;D

And, after so many decades, I'm thrilled that skinny pants have made a comeback!  So far, I have three pairs.  ;)

I don't wear skinny jeans, personally, but I was a big, huge, baggy jeans punkster in the 90's so the skinny jean thing never was my style :)

I had meta with scrotoplasty. I'm between my first and second (hopefully last) stages now, meaning the meta and scrotum are formed but I do not have the testicular implants or mons resection yet. That will add significant bulk and proper/more forward placement of my package post next surgery.

With that being said, I do have enough bulk in there to show in underwear. Nothing else I wear hugs that area of my body tight enough to show anything at all (unless it's wet swim trunks which also show some bulk). Also, I can feel that I have something between my legs now which is a huge confidence booster for me, even if my jeans are not tight enough to show anything.

For all those reasons, I have not felt any urge to pack at all. After my second surgery, with the implants in place and everything pulled forward/more anteriorly, I have no doubt I'll have significant enough bulk. I'm very excited for the testicular implants. It's something that was a lower priority for me at the time of making surgical decisions but has become increasingly important as I've realized how much I appreciate and enjoy the bulk of "something" hanging there.

Both cis male and females are very focused on their packing and breast size. This is why there are so many cis products available for this explicitly.
A lot of cis females have added pads in their bras and a lot of cis males add things to their packaging.
If anything I'm surprised at how little concern I see with this from FTMs and MTFs

I think us trans people have so much to worry and think about how to manage our lives, that the size of the bulge at whatever location is not that important at the time.
But if you read here, how many trans women have breast enlargement implanted after  a while, it seems to be o importance.  But this is only after the breast growth from estrogen has stopped.

Way back when in our lab, when we were working on the development of breast implants (I was part of that team), another group in the lab was working on penile implants.  I do not know what became of this, because I was not rely interested in this development.
But at that time, our management must have considered the penile implants to be of similar importance as the breast implants.

This entire "bulge" thing is really some kind of funny.  There are uncounted cis men out there who do not have anything close to an impressive bulge in their pants, and there are uncounted cis women out the who have relatively little breasts.

Why is it that we trans people want to have bigger bulges than a lot of cis people have, and who care less about the size of their bulge?

I find it very important, because it is part of passing and appearing as a male. I have and STP and I even sleep with it just to feel it there. It makes me better recognise myself to see the bulge when I look in the mirror.
I bind every day because I don't want to see any bulges there, even when just alone with myself. It is not silly to me, not at all!
It is very important to me and I'm very willing to go under the knife to have it corrected!

Who do you think all these implants were for exactly? A lot of cis people that just don't care about their bulges?

Yes there are plenty of women who have small breasts and they really suffer for it and make excuses all the time.
Many go for breast implants if they are the type to do plastic surgery. Many use padded bras, or try to buy bras that will make the most of what they have. It causes them depression, anxiety, insecurity, they are less noticed, less heard etc.
Breast size is not a trivial matter to cis women. Not even close. The only cis women that truly do not care much for breast size are those that are gender fluid or very masculine/sporty etc. have other values, this is the exception. I know, trust me, I have been in so many women's locker rooms and toilets that I know exactly what they worry about.

I honestly do not agree with this statement. From what I have seen on this forum, and elsewhere online, then quite the contrary, I see trans people be more shy than anything else about having too big a bulge.

As an example then Metoidioplasty is far more common than Phalloplasty with Trans Men.
That is not the case with cis men. If a cis man losses his penis then he is willing to go to great lengths to get it replaced. It is devastating to a cis man to lose his penis. The same for women. Women who have breast cancer and lose a breast feel absolutely devastated.
It is central part of femininity and woman hood to have breasts and for them to sit well on her chest.
This is why women spend huge amounts on bras, padded bras, breast implants etc.

Many performing males, musicians, actors, etc., stick a sock or fake packers, usually homemade, down their underpants before performances.
There are so many stories of this going wrong ;)

Yes, that is the reason why we did develop those augmentation devices, to help women who lost their breasts because of cancer, and men who lot the pens du to some reasons.
Cosmetic reasons or to help trans women, were never on our radar, when we did the development of the breast devices. the same was behind the penile implants that were developed.

I lived most of my life as a cis male (so I was told), but in my entire circle of adult males, the bulge in ones underwear was never of any concern.
It may be that performers do things like enhancing it, but most males do not belong to that group, and live a pretty normal masculine life, without demonstrating what they have inside their underwear.
It was a big thing as teenagers when wearing swimming trunk (speedos were the name of the game in those days), same was hair on the chest.  I never had either, a big bulge nor hair on my chest, but I was still fully accepted as a guy.  Guys do not judge each other by the appearance of secondary sex characteristics, but by the way they do the male bonding stuff!

Not straight men, no lol. Gay men and straight women do judge packs on men.
Ever wonder what's up with all the penis enlargement ads?
There are plenty of cis men with small packages and they feel so bad about it that they avoid public toilets and locker rooms. It often stops them from having sex because they dare not show it to a partner.
You say you were raised as a cis male but I wonder how masculine you are considering your comments here such as preferring to present as female.

You see I have always been very masculine and I know that men compare their sizes and all kind of other much sillier than that. I have witnessed it and I have discussed it with a number of guys. I have discussed packages with a number of gays too, You see I have the same attraction to men that gays have because I'm gay myself.

One of the main complaints that brings men to psychiatrists or therapists are difficulty with their penis, Size, erection, libido, etc.

I have a different issue which means I have been with a general psychiatrist for the last 4 years and he is very happy with my transition.
I work in finance and this is a very prominent private psychiatrist in London city.
He has patients that trade millions and run leading law firms and investment banks.
Although he doesn't handle my transition he supports it and asks me about it.
I explained my thoughts on this and he doesn't think it is even remotely silly because the penis is so central to masculinity.
I also have a male therapist who has also discussed this with me back and forth. He found it very important that I formed a position on this.
Then again I have a male mentor who has been going through this all with me and discussed it man to man and he is frankly surprised how little importance trans men seem to put into this part compared to that of cis males.

The moment Alfa men start to bully other men they go for penis size, hair, voice and feminine movements.
They have no issues with showing a bulge, not one bit.
The absence of a bulge though feminises a man so that he isn't really taken seriously.
They put a lot of effort and money into looking as masculine as possible.
You don't need to spend many days on the trading floor or with tradesmen,(carpenters, plummers etc) for that matter to hear the way they talk.

Perhaps those implants were intended for mending after accidents but the majority of implants goes to enlarge existing healthy breasts and penises.
Besides if all these cis people don't care about their sizes then loosing a bit to illness or accidents won't matter to them either.  Lol

It seems as if I have lived many decades in a male bubble, because I never ran across this as much as you describe it here!  Or is it that you city dwellers have no other outlets to show your masculinity?

Lol I'm describing decades of experience from rural to city and between a number of countries and continents and mainly from a masculine side because I've never socialised much with women.

Besides the point of this all is that this is the FTM part of the forum where we are supposed to be safe from others mocking our dysphoria, and calling our genuine concerns silly and laughable.

Now that you have apparently run out of arguments, and started down the Ad Hominem route, I will reiterate.
There is nothing silly or laughable about us afabs or our concerns!

If you feel that I wanted to make you look silly or laugh about you guys, I can tell you that this was not my intention, and would like to apologize if it came across this way.
I was just interested in the reason for this, having lived most of my life as a presumable cis male  (which I never was), and am still fully gender fluid, and without any clear gender identity.  I just try to understand how people identify with a gender!  I ask similar questions in the MtF groups, because I don not know what one needs to do or think to belong to a gender segment.
It is great for you FtM guys and the MtF girls, to be able to wake up in the morning and you know what gender you are.  I don't know this feeling at all.  Every morning I have to decide what I am supposed to be the upcoming day.

Again, please forgive me if I caused any dysphoria for you by asking stupid questions, because I do not know what causes dysphoria in people and what does not.  I do not feel any dysphoria for any of my body parts, and with those parts I am also part female and part male, like the rest of me.

Trust me, I'm all for "the larger my package is, the better!  Sure, since I have the option to choose , I'd want a larger one, even if its silicon, but the packer I want right now is a bit out of my price range.

If I ever decide to have a phallo done, I'd want to try for at least 6"/15.5cm, but ideally, I'd want 7"/18cm.

Not every transman wants a "small package."  There are those of us that want a large one!  ;)
