I'm new to the community online. Had top surgery this past Wednesday. Been doing ok since, until tonight. I'm in bad pain and just reaching out for support thru it. I endured a reduction when I was 16. I begged the doctor then to take it all, but he refused and my minor status kept me from being able to decide for myself. I'm so glad to be finally doing this. And oh my gosh it hurts so bad.

Congratulations on your surgery and I hope you can find some relief from the pain. I can only suggest ensuring you are keeping you medications up. I have no doubt some of our members who have had this surgery will be along to give you some advice as how to help relieve your pain. I hope you can get some pain relief and some rest.

I'm adverse to pain myself, I'm a baby. As stated, keep your meds up. It can take a while to get back into your system if you lapse or forget. don't over-do. Despite being a baby when it comes to pain, I tend to get 'itchy hands & feet' and try to get 'all those chores done' they glare at me, taunting as I sit there.

It's ok to be a bit lazy while you heal

Hang in there, you'll get through.

Doctors often advise to "not let the pain meds wear off completely before you take your next dose." 

Contact your doctor and ask "if it's okay if you take your next dose of pain meds BEFORE you start feeling really bad pain, even if it's before time to take your next dose."  If they say its okay, then do what your doctor says.
