I asked my endocrinologist to lower my daily dosage because I was experiencing mild side-effects (dry skin/hair). He lowered it and now I'm starting to feel like my testosterone is increasing again. I want my old dosage back. :/ What are the signs that T levels are increasing? Do you think I should go back to the higher dose?  I'm finally becoming happy, I dont want it to be ruined.  (im on progynova)

I was not able to take spiro because of side effects but I do believe that dose is twice as high as it should be from everything I have heard. And blood tests let you know if it is working or not. You want to be on the lowest possible dose that you can that is still effective. Im not a doctor so I might be way off base on the dose but I still was very surprised to see a dosage that high.

Quote from: Skarlettg on May 19, 2019, 01:48:24 PMWhat are the signs that T levels are increasing?

My doctor lowered my spiro dose a couple of years ago after I complained of constant dehydration and low blood pressure.  (It was low enough to scare her when she measured it!)  Sure enough my T levels went up on my next blood test.  I experienced the higher T levels as an increase in disturbing, violent images when falling asleep or waking up.  Losing those images was one very nice benefit of HRT, and I was not happy to get them back.  So I got my spiro increased again.

On my last checkup, she switched me to cyproterone.  The violent images have not come back, and my blood pressure is normal.  It has been two years since I had normal blood pressure, so I am happy.
