I dont like the lights, I fitted one yesterday and they are too oblong for the round shape of the car. Not cold at 11C yesterday but damp and dull with a chill wind so came back home early. Also my back was feeling tight, heated car seat, a very hot shower and muscle cream helped . Still a bit tight this morning so more cream and its warmer today.

I was fine today and got a lot done, doing sweet and sour chicken for dinner. Packet sauce and a packet of noodles and some thin sliced carrot.

Sounds really tasty as always. I'm guessing most sweet and sour sauce comes from a jar or pack.  I like the stir fry sauces too.

Hope you enjoyed it 😊

It was a pouch stirfry ,supermarket own brand. Tasted "okay", maybe not as good as some well known brands.
Annoying that Canada altered their time zone last week as I watch a You tube channel with live chat box, now it was on at 10pm that was great just before bed time. Now its at 9pm and clashes with a lot of TV shows I like, luckily they are on a plus one hour channel as well so last night I thought great I can watch that show at 10. Trouble was a program I missed was on after so started watching that only to find it was 2 hours long, ended up going to bed at 1 am. Great I thought I can sleep till 8am but woke at 6.30! I am surprised I feel okay as I am a 7 to 8 hour person, will see if the brain functions okay today.
Clear blue sky this morning, hope it warms up quick as 1C but they say 16C plus later and much the same tomorrow.

Think I had better get more cake ingredients when I food shop this morning just in case I run out, at least 4 cakes to make this afternoon. Batch cook dinner as well so going to be busy on, washing the cake tins in a bit so they dry. 2x lemon drizzle loaf cakes that I will slice I think, a Madeira cake if folks just want plain and a date and walnut cake. Possibility of a jam sponge as well. Might have to get the bowl mixer out to save my wrist, some of it will be done with electric hand whisk.
Have been getting on with the hot rod build, still so much to do before I can lift body off chassis. I was hoping to have that all done by now.

4 Cakes? Do you make cakes for functions or something Davina?

My Kitchen is in bits at the moment which means I'm limited in what I can do. I'm gutting the kitchen in my new place too so it will be a while before I can exercise my baking muscles! Just a little bit jealous!

I cut the "crust" end of one of the lemon cakes for my pudding and thought it was a bit odd, found the butter that I had put in microwave to soften this morning. Will have to remake it but run out of eggs so off to the shop in a bit.

Oh no you missed the butter! Assuming it was pretty dry? Lemon cakes are very tasty though they must be moist!

Waiting for you to host an afternoon tea with cakes and curry evening for us all 😜

Any time dear! So made 2 more lemon cakes and another date and walnut cake as the first on is now finger slices as it came out like a tray bake due to it being thin as the tin I used was to big. I froze the one wrong lemon cake as it will make a good trifle base.
Used up some bits from the freezer to make a veg curry, some sauce , a bit of passata and some coconut milk. Potato, carrot, cauliflower ,green beans and aubergine thrown in, tastes okay.

Had the ends of the 2nd batch of lemon drizzle cake for pudding, nice and light. All cut into portions ready to be plated up.

I love lemon, but hate cakes, haha. What part of it is the "Drizzle"?

To be fair, Davina would be the ultimate afternoon tea hostess. Have your fill of good British food, then retire to the garage to work on an engine! ;D

Wouldn't have you any other way, sweetie. <3

Drizzle bit is lemon juice and sugar drenched over the top of the cake while still hot so it soaks in. Nails to paint, not decided what dress to wear yet. Its very foggy this morning but thats normal for this time of year, sun will shift it soon and it should be clear and sunny for the party. We have the village hall from 4pm till 7, well access before then to set up. Making post it labels for what the cakes are, any left over will be handed out as I dont need to eat cake as it goes straight to my waist line!

Party was a success , cake nearly all went as well. Brought some stuff back home so thats lunch box tomorrow then. Took me 3 trips to the car to load mums presents!! She asked for donations to Birmingham Childrens Hospital as one of her great grand kids had to have a cancer lump removed from his tongue, was over £130 and she still had some in her birthday cards! I am bushed now after helping from 3pm till I just got back at 8pm.

I forgot to say that one of mums cousins gave me a very nice broach, its a sprig of lily of the valley. He has been with his male partner for over 30 years so maybe he feels some connection? Anyway I was taken back by this, we had been saying talking to my aunty as well that I looked like her daughter. He said its the face shape that comes from my mums side of family as he has other relatives that all look alike. She was upset by what her mum said and someone made a comment about the goitre on her neck so she left.
Off down the workshop to catch up on "2 missed days" work and use up the last bit of welding gas before I order another refill, too expensive to send any back!
