Davina,

Is is right to say that you make your living working in an auto body shop or hot rod shop or a custom car or conversion fabricator shop?  I know you seem to be fabricating and fitting and welding a lot of parts and such for cars.

Chrissy
Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Not any longer Chrissy, I have been retired 6 years so this is just my hobby now. The body side is what I have taught myself  and picked up over the years watching and doing. Fully trained mechanic for 55years so okay on the mechanical and electrical stuff on older cars, glad I am out of it now as modern cars are a pain to work on.

I loved working on my '94 Chevy Silverado truck. I could sit in the engine compartment and change the plugs. Now, modern vehicle engine compartments are packed tight with emission controls and gadgets.

Same with my 70 Vauxhall Cresta. It had a 3.3 straight 6 engine and manual column shifter

Love an old Cresta, nice simple to work on. Well my friends have just bought a Chevy pickup built by a well know UK hot rod builder. Its a 37 in a sort of pale blue. I will go over and help him with the model T hot rod build soon, he needs a few days to finish fixing the interior panels first.
Cloudy today, 14C at best. Its that time of year, thick coat in the morning and down to shorts for the afternoon! Bit more welding this morning using up the welding gas before I get a new bottle.

Oh yeah fuel costs are ridiculous now.  Just what we all need. Then it'll take months to go back down.

Yes its a 14 mile round trip to my workshop, stuck behind slow traffic I did manage to get 53mpg out of my car yesterday. Going to make a Keema plate pie today, ready rolled pastry and as its a big pack of mince there will be enough to make pasties as well. Some for the freezer and some for dinner. Have some veg curry left over so pan is to blitz it and make a soup for lunch, will get a nice roll to go with it when food shopping this morning.

Domestic goddess this afternoon after this mornings food shop, filled up with diesel as well and it cost me £10 more for my normal top up that is over 1/2 a tank.
Anyway Keema pie made, 3 pasties made ,clothes washed and bed changed all in just over 2 hours!
Nice bit of rhubarb crumble and custard for pudding as well, living the life!

With the food you're making that's definitely living a life! Rhubarb crumble is nice, although blackberry and apple is a true favourite!

Must stop eating too much, its the feeling tired and a bit of boredom when I get home. Still I did a lot of work yesterday, only problem (sounding like a stuck record now) was that muscle in my back played up. Cream and pills this morning, you can feel where it is as its where the muscle joins the pelvis/backbone . Been like it 20+ years so I live with it just have to take care not to over do things. I will be glad when the welding on the body is done and I can start on the chassis/suspension .Then its getting somewhere. Have to get the Countryman recommissioned after its winter lay up, its in a show on April 11th/12th and I want to go to some local breakfast meetings.

I went to bed earlier a bit than normal as the clocks go to BST from today, went to sleep and woke after 20mins. Tossed and turned for a bit and went to sleep again and woke after 20 mins again, reason I woke was from dreaming. Back to sleep after a bit ,comfort break about 4.30 am and back to sleep and then a strong dream that I remember when I woke up. Looking at second hand clothes and there was a silky red dress that fitted me but it was £165, I cant afford that I said and my friends said they would chip in and get it. Thing is I could feel the material in my hands and on my body as real as.
Off to see mum on the way to the workshop, she will want a clock changing as she cant reach it.

Had a job coming around this morning, slept like a log. Must be the time change, was in a rush to get to the workshop early as well for when they drop off my gas.

No need to have rushed, no gas as its at the other depot and they said they are short staffed (Dozy and the other six then!) . Made up panels and stuff and cleaned up that great big pile of rubbish under the rear of the car! Hope its turned up by Fri.

Countryman started up no problem, cleaned the leather seats with an anti bacterial/mould cleaner to get rid of the furry green stuff! All good for the car show on the 11th. Also managed to book an auto jumble pitch for the 18th April so hope to shift some more stuff I dont need.
Fish curry tonight, its fish and green peas from one of my books. Will steam some veg to go with it.
