Thank you!

Yeah, it's nothing you can't find in a magazine or on TV but as I mentioned, critical eyes are often upon us and it's not worth risking having someone think that I'm posting sexy lingerie pics because it could put the standing of Susan's in jeopardy.

I can't wait to see some clearing of my face once the Retin-A begins to work. As I understand it, I probably have to wait a 3 or 4 months or more to start to see the results I'm looking for.

In the meantime, I'm more diligent than ever about sun protection when I step outside. I have a couple of primer and foundation products that have an SPF protection rating, as well as several different tinted mineral sunblock products.

I hope my surgeon's office calls me soon to move up the second round of my FFS procedure. I'd go tomorrow if I could.

I finally bought a couple of cute summer tops online, which arrived yesterday. One of them is a fairly long babydoll style, which flares out nicely at the hips and helps to give me a nice shape. It has some elastic beneath the bustline and it was a thrill to pull it over my body. I just love that clothes like this fit me now. I just have to be brave enough to wear them out more.

A close friend of my wife spent the day visiting us last week. A member of the queer community (bi), she's been a supporter since day one. My wife said she'd be bringing some clothes for me, which is exactly what she did.

She brought me several blouses, some slacks, scarves, skirts and a long summery dress. I tried many of the items on. I was really worried about my wife's reaction, but she just smiled. Some of the items looked really flattering on me. I couldn't help but tear up with gratitude.

Yesterday, I went through the closet and made some space for my new items, putting a bunch of boy clothes in a box for donation at Goodwill.

By the way, I finally bought a few pairs of "period panties," as I'd read that they help with tucking since the bottom area has a fairly thick liner sewn in. I wore a pair the other day and they do indeed help to keep things tucked away.

That sounds wonderful Courtney. You are very lucky to have such a good friend and even luckier to have such a caring wife

I keep thinking about posting an update, but I feel I have too much to say about my fears, doubts, moments of euphoria and of pain to even know where to start, so I'll just write a little update again and see what comes out.

I wore a cute purple/black babydoll top to electro last week and to the grocery store after. I like the way the flared bottom creates that shape, that appearance of curves.

I liked the top so much that I bought another one, blue with flowers, which I wore today. I don't enjoy having to wear a face mask to cover both the post-electro redness and the remaining whiskers, but I suppose I do feel a lot safer that way. If I'm honest, I look most female from the nose up. My lips are thin and my face is long, so my jaw can get me clocked. I can't wait for FFS round 2 to plump up my lips.

I'm not good at all at putting outfits together and I don't really feel inspired to work on that skill. At the very least, I need some women's footwear.

I'm working my way through the at-home portion of my electrology training - I'm probably about 2/3 finished. This has me wondering how to proceed. I want to use my chosen name at the school and in my practice but I'm not feeling inspired to do this. I'm hoping the FFS people get me in soon and I'm looking better and all healed up. I want to be inspired to attend the training as a woman. I have more than a little apprehension about the cis women around here, as it's very likely I'll end up hearing from some transphobes who get upset about me being trans. I've heard from others who got trolled with negative reviews and worse, as they're very interested in punishing us for who we are (in the name of their God).

With the above in mind, I'm starting to stress about voice training. As a musician, it shouldn't be difficult for me. But I need to get started very very soon. The problem is, I don't want to start with my wife around, as I don't want to create discord.

I have a bit of irritation on my cheeks, so I think the trentinoin is starting to do its job. I'm taking some breaks, skipping application every couple of days in order to give my skin a chance to adjust. Of course, I don't want to do this; I want to fast-track the results. But I have to be patient for now.

I'm fighting with my local breast health center and my insurance company over a mammogram from early this year that they didn't cover because the breast center made my GP change the mammo order from a wellness screening to a diagnostic one, due to the "M" gender marker (and possibly some bias against me). I've explained my gender to them and they've still refused. State law doesn't allow this sort of gender-based discrimination. I'm fighting this. In the age of trump, everyone feels empowered to express their hatred of people who aren't like them. I won't be giving up on this fight.

Mammograms are not only for women. Men get them too because men can get breast cancer the same as women do, although it is rarer.

The photo I'd posted was a lacy cami that I'd worn out for the day but it showed a lot of cleavage and could have been mistaken for underwear, so it was decided that it was better to avoid a possible misunderstanding.

I didn't read the article you posted but my understanding is that cis men don't require routine mammograms so any which are ordered are considered "diagnostic." Insurance covered diagnostic mammograms at a much lower rate than routine screenings.

That makes sense, except that you are not a cis man. 😉

But I understand what you are saying.

With Tretinion you cant go daily to start. I had to ease in or my skin stung and went very sensitive. May also peel. Exfoliate though as otherwise the old skin may lift when you apply foundation or eye shadow. Looks rough. I've been using for months though cant decide if its really doing anything as still deep wrinkles all under my eyes.

Give it a few weeks then go daily. Hope it works out x
