I just saw a Pileated woodpecker in the tree outside my window.  They are big birds!

Zinnias are hard to grow in my yard.  I think a rabbit ate them.  I put hardware cloth around the three survivors so I may still get a few blooms this year. 

Midsummer is a tough time for roses in Connecticut but I have some bushes that are putting on a good show.

I didn't get around to using my 30% off coupon on Friday so I got a 40% off coupon to use today at Kohl's!  I bought two Serta Pillows and a yellow dress with red roses. The dress was $40 marked down to 18 and cost me just $11 with the coupon!

I went shopping with a red sleeveless Hello Kitty crop top and a very light pink pair of jean pants with a four inch inseam.  The pants are about as tight as any bottom I've worn.

Congratulations on scoring the bargain!  I do not have any Hello Kitty clothing.  For that matter, I do not have any crop tops either.  I do have some clothes that do show a little bit of the tummy area but I never wear them out in public.  I think they must have shrunk because of improper drying and I do not know why I have not already donated them. 

Why we keep some things is hard to figure out at times.

Yes, the dress fits amazingly well for an off the rack dress!
Many genetic girls have trouble finding dresses that match their figures.

I've learned that I have really good luck in the Kohl's Juniors department when it comes to sizing.

According to Kohl's SEC filing for 2012, Carly Rae Jepsen was their celebrity spokesperson for their Junior's lifestyle brand Candie's.  As I mentioned in an post #560, I can wear her clothes!

Carly was 26 and waiting on tables when she became a "one hit wonder" to most of the world's population.
That opened many doors and she constantly takes advantage of the business and creative opportunities.
She recently had a baby and will be resuming her singing career.  Sunday, Sept 27 she is headlining in Forest Hills Stadium NY.

Today I played golf with Dan, 19, who said he was in a slump.  I responded by saying I intended to practice a new club, my fairway wood.  I told him I had stroke in 98 and he said he wanted to become a  physical trainer in sports medicine.  I  told him his ideal job would be at the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, the same town where we were playing golf!  It is where athletes go for rehab outside the bright lights of NYC and Boston.  I figured out his problem.  He can drive the ball and make short wedge shots to the green but he still has a lot to learn so he struggles if driver doesn't work.  Anyway, I think I fixed his game.  He had two birdies! 

As we were finishing the round I pulled his fairway wood and told me he never used it before, so I told him how to set up the shot.  He duffed it into the water so I showed him how to use it. 😀

We finished the round in a speedy 3-1/2 hours.  I got to Jersey Mike's before the lunch time crowd showed up!

I just got a warranty repair on my Herman Miller Aeron.  The mesh wore out and they sent out a repairman to replace it!  He got the job done in about hour.  It is one of the few chairs that comes in a size small.  I can sit in it all day without hurting my back!

The weather was so nice that he repaired it outside on my driveway under the shade of a tree while we chatted.

How old is the chair?  Did you use the chair a lot?  Do you think the mesh was defective or it just wore out fast because of a lot of use?

The chair is 11 years old and was used constantly, so it wore out from constant use.
It  came with a 12  year warranty so it was better that it wore out before the warranty expired!

That is a long warranty for a regular, not an after manufacturer warranty' extended warranty.

After three rainy days I finally got to play golf again.  Walked 18 holes and drove the ball off the tee really well. 😀  Missed a Par 4 birdie putt but got a Par 4 and a Par 5 in regulation from the white tees. I was paired with a guy who I played with a month ago and his brother.  He asked me if I was hitting the ball farther since we played and I said yes.  Which is really unusual in the game of golf.

I went to Target to buy a basket for my used golf clothes since I wash them separately and hang them up to dry so they don't get damaged by the heat of the dryer.  I bought an XXS "The Devil wears Prada" tee shirt on sale for $4.50

Lunch was fried shrimp and french fries with a desert of a sweet cream ice cream cone.

I used the women's rest room twice today.

I've improved my golf game a lot this year.  Not only am I driving the ball consistently off the tee but I just learned how to swing my hybrids and fairway woods off the deck.  As well as using a hybrid club for short game. Most golfers struggle to play better golf, even if they pay for lessons from a professional.  My eye doctor said she would like to play but she is terrible at swing a golf club.

I had a really quick eye doctor appointment at the mall.  It was raining so I wore a striped wool crop top, a pleated white athetic skirt, and white leather sandals with kitten heels.  I figured I would dry off really quickly if I got caught in a burst of rain but thankfully it was dry when I got to the mall.  No such luck going home as it was raining pretty hard by then.  She studied the records of my retinal tear repair and said that my eyes were working well--she did the tests fast to see if I could keep up and not  have to work around issues.    We agreed that there was little sense in having three dilations in six months as I'm seeing the retinal specialists for a follow-up.  My prescription was almost identical to the last one--just a tiny change in the direction of the astigmatism in one eye.  May even be measurement error.  It was good to see the doctor for assurance that I'm doing all I can do for my eye health.

So I was in and out and just half an hour!  Wandered around Westfarms mall before having a shrimp scampi pizza at Sally's Apizza.  Good pizza that I had as leftovers the next day.
