Quote from: Stottie Girl on May 10, 2026, 07:41:58 AMYou sent me into a panic there thinking it was mothers day today Gina! I had no idea you had a different day. Ours is next Sunday as it's the 4th Sunday of lent! It seems yours has nothing to do with religion.
Ours has more to do with commerce! You have to buy mom a card, take her out to diner. Buy her a gift......

My son still calls me dad. Never wishes me a happy mothers day. Stopped wishing me a happy fathers day after I came out. This year on the phone when he was telling my wife happy mothers day, I asked how about me. His response was, "you lost that rite!" He didn't mean it in a bad way but it bothered me. How does everyone deal with this? I'm not his mom. Not dad in the male sense. ??

With all the hate my kids spoke and the years it took for them to call me dad. I will always be dad. It's OK for that one link to my male self.

It's harder to love and create than hate and destroy. Love and creation takes more energy. Where hate and destruction can be done with a single word that can haunt you for a life time.

We can't force anyone into acceptance. My two children do not acknowledge me at all, but that has to do with a bitter divorce from their mother, not transgender-related.

Honoring our parents or other loved ones is strictly voluntary, so we should accept it with gratitude in whatever form it takes.

We have two daughters. I am not their mother, that title was earned by Susan. I do not 'celebrate' Father's Day, although both of my daughters usually call me on that day. They do not address me as either 'mom' or 'dad'. I had asked them to simply call me 'Jessica'. There is a 'Parents' Day', which in in 26 July this year (in the U.S.).

It bothers me some as well, but I don't have a good resolution.

Quote from: Brooke Renee on February 03, 2024, 08:45:35 AMHey girl,

Probably both!  It's that time of the year when most of us Seattleites throw in the towel, pour a glass of scotch, and plop down in front of the TV with a bowl of Vitamin D gummies.

Hugs,

Brooke

PS: Super happy you joined out group!
I've heard this can happen with somone methods of administering HRT, like oral. I'm just learning, though!
