Usually Herons run a mile when you get near but just occasionally you get one that just stops and stares. This one (also on a beach) was so close I couldn't zoom out far enough to get him fully in the frame!

Hey All!

Had an adventure today!... A little skunk showed up in our yard with his foot trapped in a large plastic spring loaded trap... I managed to get it off him without getting skunked!... He seemed to know I wanted to help him and his foot seemed okay... No bleeding or limp afterwards! I don't think anything was broken 💕 🦨 💕

I was scared I was going to end up very stinky and bitten with a scared animal who would never trust me enough for me to make a second attempt at helping him but, his eyes told me he was willing to trust me... if I would trust him! 💕🦨💕

When our dog would get sprayed, the vet said to bathe her in tomato juice to remove the smell.

If I got sprayed, I would have to stink like a skunk in the grocery store, buying large jugs of tomato juice!

Hydrogen Peroxide, baking soda and dish soap mixture works well too... I had those ingredients on hand so that helped me feel prepared in case things went badly!!! 😅👍

Ha!... It is really bad... if you got it on you, the only thing that would matter to you is getting the smell off!... 😫 They are very cute though!... Lots of moms and babies running around right now... we have seen up to 14 in our yard at one time... there seems to be a population explosion this year!...

Bird Rock is an interesting viewpoint.
Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

One of the PT's I work with told me of this and it works. First time they were sprayed, it took 12 weeks for them to come clean, trying several things, soaps from Amazon, home remedies and such.

Second time they were sprayed, this mixture took a daily wash for 3 days and cleared the smell off of them.  💚

My husband surprised one on the landing right outside our kitchen door a while back when he was heading out to start up his BBQ and the skunk... reacted!... he didn't get too much on him... a little around each knee... the smell was really strong but the mixture did the trick with one treatment... We vowed to always keep the ingredients on hand after that! 🦨

Oh my god Ashley! that family of skunks is the cutest thing ever! and the noise they make! It's like someone playing a cazoo on helium ha ha! I had no idea they were so adorable! and friendly too!

Hey All,

Well... Ya wanna take a guess who doesn't have the good sense to not start learning to skateboard in her 60s? 🙄... Every once in a while I get a strong urge to try something new that totally challenges me. Hopefully my surfing and snowboarding skills will flatten the most painful part of the learning curve to some degree... along with all the safety gear and padding I have amassed! 🙏🛹🤗🛹

I bought a Landyachtz Tugboat cruiser style board to start on and this Santa Cruz popsicle style board to work up to...

Onward I Skate...

Good luck, hope it goes well. I tried to use those "Heely" trainers with the built in wheels. I fell and the top of my head smashed the plaster off a brick wall. Not fun!

As a kid, I rollerskated a lot. As an adult, I decided to try rollerblades. Not good!

Hey there skater girl! Go you!

I used to be a skater in my teens. I had a broken wrist, index finger and half a front tooth to show for it haha! Maybe I wasn't any good lol! No protection in the 90's though! Santa Cruz board too, a classic!
