Thank you, Ash!

I remember a video you had posted where you and hubby explored the old WW2 barracks that had been abandoned there. Wow, what a difference from 35 years ago!

As a youth we lived in Michigan, my grandparents came to visit and we went ti the Henry Ford Museum. My great grandfather worked for Henry Ford, and my grandfather was talking about some of the things his dad had told him and he had seen. A park ranger asked us to follow him for a minute. We went into a back room and the ranger asked my great grandfather's name. He went through a huge ledger. Stopped on a line and told us to follow him. We had a full behind the barrier tour. My great grandfather was an engineer for Henry Ford and they were good friends.  I was 8 or 9, I will always remember that

There are still a few areas with the old wooden barracks and the later era concrete block structures but, they are quickly disappearing as development marches on!... It was often surreal when I first started working out there in the mid 90s and it was ghost town as far as the eye can see... always felt like we were in some post-apocalypse movie 😅

Onward!

I believe some of the Fort is now in a town named Marina.
Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

I think that is too far north, Chrissy. Marina was incorporated in 1975. I have no doubts that the urban sprawl may have moved the city limits since then, so you could be right.

Yes, Ft Ord was divided up like a pie!... Marina, Seaside and Del Rey Oaks received land to expand...The old Army airfield is Marina Airport... The University has grown substantially... CA State Parks received the beach/dunes and the rest is still under Federal and DOD control... 🌻

I was thinking of taking the Rocky Mountaineer train GoldLeaf dining service between Vancouver and Banff through the Rockies in Canada.

It is a two day trip with overnight lodging in Kamloops.  That way you can see all the sights in daylight.  Looks like fun.

Have you been on this scenic train?

I did a dinner train with my ex wife. It was a Food Network Dinner Impossible show. The food was great and I was on national TV for about 3 seconds.
