So here's an update since I haven't posted much in a while. TL;DR = I've been busy.
I had a six-month checkup with my Primary on Wednesday. My left knee had been bothering me, so I wore my knee brace. I have a torn meniscus in that knee and got a cortisone shot a couple or three years ago. She was surprised that it lasted that long and offered another one, but wanted x-rays first to be sure it hadn't gotten worse and might need surgery. I got the X-rays done on Friday, so now I wait for her to review them. In the meantime, ice packs have been very helpful.
Now, it is the end of the month, so the Bureau of Land Management is unlocking the gates to the gold fields. I have everything I need and know exactly where I am going. I just need to be able to kneel to do the work. Hopefully, I can get out there within a week or two. Mama needs more gold!
I have finished my second novel, Samaria, the sequel to Out of Tolerance. I am going through it now and doing a final polish to get it ready for publication. I had planned to change the cover image on OOT to coincide with the release of Samaria (details on my web page), but the publisher is now offering a Groundwood Paper that is supposed to be more eco-friendly and to reduce printing costs by a few pennies. Rather than wait, I went ahead and uploaded the new image so they can review it and add it to the file for publishing.
I just got off the phone with my VA Endocrinologist about some questions I had sent to them via messaging. It was a good conversation, but the response was what I expected from the VA. I won't bore you with the details.
Tomorrow morning, I have an electrolysis appointment, so that will be fun.
I'd rather be busy than bored, so life is good.
