Went grocery shopping this morning. The Loaf-N-Jug near Walmart had gas at $4.17 per gallon and is usually the lowest price in town.
I figured I would skip that one and stop at the Loaf-N-Jug, a few blocks from my house, to get gas there instead.
The price was $4.77 per gallon! They also have shiny new gas pumps that say SHELL. I went inside and asked when they became a Shell station. The clerk said only the gas is Shell, the convenience store is still Loaf-N-Jug.
I told him the price at Loaf-N-Jug was $4.17, and he said, "Yes, they just raised the price two hours ago." Well, I saw the price at L-N-J about 15 minutes ago. Shell is charging 60 cents more per gallon. I am not okay with that. I said goodbye, and I won't be back.
If I go one more block, I can get it cheaper. I haven't bought Shell gasoline in decades. Now I am reminded why.
