I know its a compliment so I'm always pleased when it happens to me. But what exactly prompts the description?  Do men get called sexy?

I think some men do but it's usually women that are sexualized. What you are comfortable with being called is a very personal thing in my opinion.

My opinion is that when a man or a woman is called being "sexy" by either
a man or woman, it has more to do with lustful thoughts instead of a genuine
compliment to a man or woman regarding appearance and countenance.
