I tried once again with my GP to get a letter to support my passport gender change. Despite explaining there is no requirement for a GD diagnosis and that it's non commital they still refused.

So now looks like I'll have to spend £175 privately to get a letter. Just wasting more money and building up more debt. Oh well I'm already in over £27K debt so guess this don't make much odds. It's only money, I'm going to stop really thinking too much about it and just do whatever!

At least I can get this sorted as not having a passport is causing me problems now. I'm still in my dead name for 90% of stuff as can't change without ID.

Did they give you a reason for refusing?

I know the rules are different there, but here I would casually speak words like "discrimination" and "lawsuit".

The only thing they say is:

"I can see that you have now been referred to Gender Identity Clinic in Nottingham although I am not certain of how long their waiting times are. The partners of the practice have requested that we await formal notification from the clinic in Nottingham before they assist you with your request."

They just seem unwilling to do something they don't understand. Trust me to end up with a GP practice unwilling to help.
