With the Christmas season upon us (and as I write I have an old 33 called "First Christmas Record for Children" from like 1964/66 on the turntable---it's bringing back memories of Christmas as kid, especially a track where its a story about a Christmas tree's purpose on Christmas!  And I don't recall hearing on modern recordings stories like they put on these old LP's from the 60's and the stories or story songs they wrote for little kids, but everyone of all ages!  Of course on this LP, at one point Santa tells the little tree about some Cold War Era troubles behind the Iron Curtain!) I bought some new Sheertex pantyhose a week ago (2 black and 1 oat milk), and I'm loving them.  I've tried some pantyhose by Warner's and others in the past, but I found that they always tore when I first put them on, no matter how delicately I put them on and that I had bought the largest size.

When you first began wearing pantyhose (or I guess in the UK they are just called tights, but here in Canada I have always heard them called pantyhose, with tights being for little girls and nowhere as sheer as pantyhose) did you find that the way you moved changed?  Like, if you needed to pick up something, did you find that the pantyhose forced you to bend with your knees close together and do the "Z" bend, whereas without you just bent?

Also did anyone say anything to you about your legs the first time you wore pantyhose?

I prefer tights, especially in winter. If I wear them out, they are under my pants for warmth, not decoration. I like the feel of them, but it made no difference in how I bend. I can see where that would change if wearing a skirt or dress, but not for hose in general.

A bigger effect on how you move is your footwear.
I changed the clocks last night wearing 2inch stilletos.
It was difficult at first but I quickly adapted they are easy to wear this morning.
It helps that I walk for hours on the golf course.

At this point I still need to try some of the finer tights that may be more likely to tear. So far I've worn thicker ones eg bold red to match my outfits etc. But will soon get some thinner ones so you can still see my legs through them.

Now I'm wearing leggings under dresses as it's cold!

I'll feedback when I try some more.

Hi Everyone

Well here in Australia there are of course two types mainly pantyhose and tights.  When I changed my life around and I was still in Sydney I was working as a contractor and I dressed conservatively for work and most of the time it was skirt, matching jacket, blouse and of course pantyhose (hosiery) and in those early days it was underwear, pantyhose and then another pair of underwear to keep things in place.  It was never pantyhose first as it felt uncomfortable and not practical and one other thing when my legs got hairy then pantyhose certainly covered them up.  These days I don't have hairy legs anymore.

During the winter if things were too cold then it was a case of tights and for 17 odd years that was what I wore.  When I went out the pantyhose (or stockings) became more elaborate, some nice subtle and gentle patterns, mainly black when I went out on a date or a special occasion.

Where I am now, out in the countryside it is rare for me to wear pantyhose as it gets very hot and it is not practical to do so.  Since moving back home, I have hardly ever worn them again.  These days I wear leggings and a smock of some description.  If it is some special occasion then I will wear a full length skirt or dress but if it gets cold at night during the winter in the countryside then I will be wearing my leggings under my long nightie as I don't like wearing pyjamas, I could if I wanted to but I like my nighties and wearing them allows me to change the material depending on how hot it is at night and that undisputable feeling of being feminine.

So depending on the occasion or location, then the name of the game is of course depends on your own preference for, pantyhose, stockings or tights.

Best Wishes Always
