To honor its many ties and the legacy of support and fidelity between America and her Marines, the Marine Corps will host public events and celebrations throughout 2025 across the country.

This program will include two national-level capstone events at the beginning and end of the year, as well as six multi-day Marine Corps-hosted outreach events, called Marine Weeks, in six major cities across the country.

The Marine Weeks will occur in Los Angeles, Nashville, Chicago, Boston, and Atlanta.

Ultimately, the 250th birthday celebrations will conclude in Washington, DC at the Commandant's Birthday Ball in November.

EXCERPTS below:
The United States Marine Corps birthday is an American holiday celebrated every year on 10 November with a traditional Ball and Cake-cutting Ceremony.
On that day in 1775, the Continental Marines were established.

The official birthday of the United States Marine Corps is on 10 November 1775. That was the day when the Second Continental Congress established the Continental Marines with the following decree:
That two battalions of Marines be raised consisting of one Colonel, two      lieutenant-colonels, two majors and other officers, as usual in other regiments; that they consist of an equal number of privates as with other battalions, that particular care be taken that no persons be appointed to offices, or enlisted into said battalions, but such as are good seamen, or so acquainted with maritime affairs as to be able to serve for and during the present war with Great Britain and the Colonies; unless dismissed by Congress; that they be distinguished by the names of the First and Second Battalions of Marines.

My Warmest Regards and my sincere and respectful THANK YOU to our U.S. Marine Corps

Semper Fi!

My first experience in the military was a year in the USMC JROTC in high school. It taught me basic drill & ceremonies, rifle marksmanship, teamwork, and camaraderie. It helped me with leadership skills, and I wore that uniform proudly. I have two uncles who were Marines, so I understand the traditions, and every Marine has my utmost respect.

In Basic Training, we had three "jarheads" who trained with us. And, although we constantly harassed them and called them "crayon eaters", we loved them. They were valuable members of our team. Later, two of them went on to Tank School with the rest of us "treadheads". There, they were seen as just another tanker and not even a different branch of the military.

To all of you, I salute you.
