I might have given the wrong impression with that message ^^^ about legal action.

I think I should explain. I actually took my old school to court because it facilitated child abuse. This was documented and evidenced and several teachers were found guilty and one was sentenced to 10 yrs in prison. Their lawyers settled with me just as we were about to go into the court room and I got the school shut down.

So, again, it was about the principles not the money. I don't like injustices.

Oh my god Tills, that's awful. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I hope that resolution helps you put it behind you at least.

Excellent letters. If I was one of the recipiants of the first one in particular I would be getting a bit worried now!

I think your blue touch paper has been lit! You go for it. Give them hell Tills!

Well there has been quite an update ...

I'm going to be careful what I post here but I had a call today from the Manager of my GP practice, who was copied into my letter to the Chief Executive of the Area Health Authority, known as 'Surrey Heartlands.' This time I also copied in the clinical pharmacists.

It turns out that the block was not coming from my GP surgery but from the Lead Clinical Pharmacist at Surrey Heartlands.

The Practice Manager paused as he relayed the next piece of news.

'She has been sacked: made redundant. Her replacement as Lead Clinical Pharmacist has phoned me this afternoon and is now on your case with the intention of having your prescription cleared and on file at the beginning of next week.'

I don't gloat about anyone's downfall (although personally I would make exceptions for Trump, Putin, Farage, and J.K.Rowling) but I hope that this now improves the lives for all transgender people in the Surrey Area.

I too don't like to see someone being put out of a job Tills but when poor performance in that job is causing distress and health risks to others there is no choice. Excellent result in that regard. Very well done!

Now if you could just get the anti trans mob removed from Kier Starmer's government as well that would be appreciated!

Trans warrior Tills!

Yes agreed but the Manager gave me the distinct impression that she was sacked because of deliberately blocking a transgender patient's hormones not because of poor performance. Look for instance at the way my friend's switch from HRT pills to patches went through completely unblocked.

If I hadn't taken this to a fight then she could have carried on with this trans attack on others of our community for years.

For the record I'm not defending her I was trying to be diplomatic. If it has been a personal agenda against trans people then she should never practise again. She is not fit to hold the role anywhere. In fact there should be criminal or civil prosecution but there probably won't be.

Well today I finally got my GP surgery to issue my 3-month prescription for the Evorel 100 HRT.

They also took my bloods for the full suite of tests requested by Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health.

So I guess that's it. The door was finally battered down. I don't like the fact that I've had to out myself to a number of different people in the process, and that things will be on my NHS notes. However I feel that in the end I've got there.

I only hope that any others of our community (MtF, FtM, or varieties of expression) are not put through this frankly awful and degrading process again. It has been draining and stressful for me and at times my usually sunny disposition has become tetchy.

Guess I've got this all to look forward to in about 9 years time! It'll either be completely disbanded or fixed. 😀

That's exciting. I hope he listens and actually does something to help.

VICTORY!
Well done Tills! The UK beaurocratic machine is not easy to crack!

It's good that your former MP wants to talk with you over this issue, especially considering you are no longer one of his constituents. Good on him, bit late but good nonetheless!

So ... I have de-registered as a patient in Surrey. I had got to the point where the door to my care plan was beaten down but in the process I was outed and my NHS notes had transgender comments all over them. That felt degrading, dehumanising, and disempowering.

So I removed myself as a patient in Surrey.

I have also deleted my NHS login.

None of that removes my NHS record as such but I've registered somewhere else in England where I have a viable address and which uses a different third party app, and I've managed to throw sufficient smokescreens so I should be able to start again. Having moved around previously I know that the NHS are perfectly capable of losing and deleting previous records. If I do need treatment whilst in Surrey I can always register as a temporary patient at a different surgery which I know.

I would have registered in Scotland but I'm on the waiting list for Gender Affirming Surgery in England so can't do so at present.

Sometimes we have to be drastic to be real.

Just by way of update, in case anyone goes through a similarly appalling situation with Surrey Heartless Integrated "Care" Board.

When you change GP Surgeries in England & Wales the 'normal' method is to sign on at a new surgery. You tell them where you were previously registered and nowadays they use a system called GP2GP which automatically transfers your medical records across.

On the other hand, if for reasons like mine you wish to kick over the traces you can de-register at your old surgery first and tell them to send your records by hard copy to PCSE , which is the NHS physical and digitial records storage run by Capita.

Then you register at your new surgery, perhaps not even telling them about your previous surgery, and preferably do this by filling out a form if they will let you rather than electronically. If you do tell them about your old surgery it will take about 2 months to retrieve your records through PCSE.

I didn't tell them at all about my old surgery. I said I'd "been travelling".

My new surgery were totally unfazed. I used to be registered there two years ago and they were great back then. I still have a viable address I was able to use down there ...

It's all a bit drastic but I felt it was very necessary for me. I don't see why the heck I should have "transgendered" plastered all over every single bit of data, from Integrated Care Boards to Area Prescribing Committees, to all the doctors, pharmacists, support staff etc. Which is precisely what happened to me in Surrey.

Of course, some might need to know but that's exactly the point: it should be on a genuine need to know basis.
