Stottie Girl

Just a sheet for me, also in the birthday suit. It was unpleasant heat last night. Hopefully going to be better for the rest of the week.

Stottie Girl

Had a nice morning up in Alnwick, Northumberland today. Went for a nosey around Barter Books, a regular haunt of mine. It's a fantastic second hand book shop, one of the largest in Europe. Had a nice pot of Earl Grey Tea before having a wander round. The shop operates a barter system where you bring in books you no longer want and they value them, and put put the funds onto an account which you can draw down when you make purchases. It's a great idea and very popular. The shop is inside of the old Victorian Alnwick railway station with the cafe in the first class lounge. This image shows about a quarter of whats there:-

There is a model railway above your head running round and round the shop. If you're a bookworm it is heaven! Lots of original first editions as well as cheap used books.

I got an old copy of "The Flag Captain" by Alexander Kent and Battle Royal by Koushun Takami. I was a fan of the Battle Royale film but I had no idea it was based on a novel so interested to read it.

On the way back I called into Eshott Airfield. I hadn't been in before but it's a lovely little place with a nice cafe. It felt more like a rural golf club than the hustle and bustle of Newcastle International Airport where i was learning to fly! I watched a Cesna take off then headed back home for lunch. Going to Eshott has got me wanting to take up learning to fly again. It's been 30 years since I last took the controls!

A fun packed morning really.

You should do it!

The last examples of the type I flew are set to be retired at the end of this year, after 60 years in service.  So if I ever wanted to fly again, I'd have to learn a new type.

Gosh you must be much older than you look.  Good for you!
I hope that came out as a compliment, as intended,

Oh.  You do look nice for sure.  I read that wrong way but I see why I did by the way the message by itself was written, that you flew it from the 70s.  You did not fly in the 70s, the plane was from the 70s.  Well it was intended as a compliment.
