I guess the good thing is you're not resident in the property during all this work! It's so much fun trying to do major stuff whilst living your life in the property...not!

Hope it all gets sorted quickly so you can move in soon. X

Shannon, I'm very inspired by all of the work you're doing/having done. I hope you'll share some photos soon.

No good trying to shut the gate after the horse has bolted Danielle! It's just as well I'm British and like a bit of banter ha ha!

But all you buggers jumping on the bandwaggon should be ashamed of yourselves. Tsk tsk!

I'm going to get back to the second half and sob into my beer!

I am done too Sarah although I would love to be a Betty but I can't pull off that name.

By you all give up easily!😉

Well, England falls at the final fence yet again. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure how we we reached the semi final anyway. I don't think we played well all tournament. Still a semi final run in a world cup isn't to be sniffed at. Only four years until we get another chance.

At least I don't have to watch anymore football!

Hey Shazza, sorry about your team, but I do like seeing the tears of big white Nationalist boofheads.

At least your house is coming along and you get a bit of Sarah time

Well the electricians are 95% finished. I have no idea when they are coming back but the power is back on at least. There are a LOT of holes in plasterboard walls that will need fixing. Going to have to work out a strategy for that. I think every room bar the Bathroom and maybe my spare room will need to have the wallpaper stripped so I can get a bond with new plaster. I was hoping to hold off and do one room at a time but I can't leave it like it is. This is going to to be a PITA! Still, it will keep me busy!

I was hoping to get in as soon as possible but things might be dragging on a bit longer yet. Feeling a bit miffed about that but not much could be done about it I suppose. I got a brief moment on Tuesday night where Sarah came out to play at least. But by god it's tough.

I've finalised my kitchen design at least and it's coming in slightly cheaper than I originally thought which is great.

Sounds like it coming together. It will all be fixed before you know it. Then you will think that didn't take as long as I thought it would.

Lori Dee

Sounds great!

You could still do it one room at a time. Focus on what needs to be done first before you move in. Then work on the other walls while you are there. It might not look nice at first, but that will just motivate you toward the next step.

Are you replacing the walls or just patching them? Patching is cheaper, but replacing gives a nicer look and better strength for hanging things like big TVs, stereo speakers, Disco Lights, etc.

Patching Lori. I can't afford anything else really. It's going to be fiddly and I'm a bit upset that the hallway which had quite nice wallpaper on it has the worst holes. I was hoping to save that but it's not to be. My bedroom should be straight forward to repair though except for the bloody wallpaper on the ceiling which will either have to come off or be over boarded

I get that. But you could still move in and do the patching as Sarah, right?

@Stottie Girl
Dear Sarah: (yes, your name is Sarah !!!)
I feel you pain and frustration.  When I got out of the Air Force and College, my first home was a fixer-upper
and it used up all of my energy, patience and focus, and my money too.

I lived there for several years.  That was about the time I was coming out in my transition and became full time, quit my male mode Executive Accountant job and relocated to my new location and then was able to buy a newer home that needed no work or upgrades ... it was wonderful to not have the issues, headaches, and unexpected expenses that I had with my previous home, but that obviously means a higher purchase price... the good news is when I sold my fixer-upper I realized a fairly nice profit because of my upgrades to the home.
I had a lot of good memories there once I fixed it up.

I am wishing you well with your home renovations... enjoy the feeling of making it the way that you want it to be.

I am eager to continue following up on home story and your other stories and updates on your blog.
Maybe some pictures when it is appropriate??
HUGS, Danielle [Northern Star Girl]
