Quote from: Stottie Girl on Yesterday at 02:52:53 AMI'm going to order the fitted wardrobe carcasses from Ikea today
I/we have the large (235 cm high, about 200 cm wide) IKEA wardrobes with sliding doors. As always with IKEA there is the handyman's work with putting it all together but we are very satified with the result. Many options for fittings (is that the correct word for the various baskets, hangers and what not inside the wardrobe?).

Yeah I'm getting the exact same size one. Though it's all for me!

I can't cut down the light as it affords borrowed light to the dining room. So far it only leaks when the rain is very heavy.

I'm into my 5th week of being stuck in male mode. I feel like I should be chalking the days on the wall!

The only time I can be me is in the bath when I can spend time shaving my legs and pits, applying lotions and moisturisers and generally pampering myself before emerging back into male prison.

I can see my bedroom being finished in a couple of weeks, then I need my kitchen installed or at least some function to it and I can move in. I'm tempted to move in as soon as my bedroom is done and just go round to my folks for meals or eat out. I'm climbing the walls here. My whole life is on hold.

At least I'm not falling into depression like I was before. It is just massively frustrating.

That sound's so depressing for sure. Would definitely be worth getting in as soon as you can. When i did my kitchen i got a gas camping stove which worked perfect for a few days. Washed stuff in the bathroom. And of course a microwave helps.

We have one each. ;)
My wife is occupying a bit of my trousers-and-suits section but for some mysterious reason it seems my trousers are now multiplying and I may need to reclaim that space - or perhaps I just need get rid of some of the male trousers ;)

I am probably misunderstanding something but doing renovations is absolutely a girl's job just as much as it can be a man's job. Or is it that your girl clothes are under the rubble (figuratively speaking)?

Houses (rentals or ownership) can be quite stressful at times to deal with.

This too shall pass.

Consider dressing androgynously if practical.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

I am not out socially yet. My mum knows I am trans but my dad does not. I am having to live at my Mum and Dads while I get the new place up to scratch. All my girlie things are sealed up in boxes (lots and lots of boxes!) and I can't get at them, hence the issue.

That has got to be such a bummer.

Oh, I see. That is a bit troublesome but you'll get to the finish line soon and that will feel so good!
Keep grinding, girl!

No such thing as male/female jobs, when I see folks say why is a girl building /working on a car/hot rod I say just look on the net and see how many women are into and building cars. Same with houses.
Keep plodding on dear, even a small job is a job done and gets you closer to the finish.

My dysphoria is in overdrive today for some reason. Everytime I catch my reflection in a mirror I feel like what's the bloody point, who am I kidding, I'm just a bloke with boobs. I feel so far away from where I was just 6 weeks ago. In fact I feel like I did last year before I came on Susans and met all you lovely people. I feel like sticking masking tape over all the mirrors in the house but I think my folks might think I've flipped. I'm just proper flat today, for no reason either, I just woke up like this. I need to snap out of it because I'm getting on my own nerves!

I dont like my reflection without my syrup on but you have to live with it, knowing I will be going outside with my hairy hat on makes it okay.

I had one of those days a couple weeks ago and I did my makeup and put on perfume and a new top and a skirt I had purchased. It helped a lot with that feeling. I know you are stuck with your parents but I think you need to express the real you in some form so alleviate that feeling.

I understand how it is so much a bummer to not be easily able to wear the gender appropriate clothing.
This can bring on gender dysphoria to very high levels.

Can you keep some girly work clothes at your house to wear when you are over there?

Not looking in mirrors kind of worked for me for 20 years. Showering in the dark also helped
