I feel like not enough people are talking about this, so I figured I'd share. There's this artist I absolutely LOVEEE named Ethel Cain. She is a trans woman, and she has such a killer voice. I love all her songs, but the best is her Preachers Daughter album. It's a concept album, so I'd definitely recommend listening to it from the top down and if you're interested in the lore, you should definitely look into it, but ANYWAY.
I don't know if Ethel Cain is a big name in the trans community, but at least everyone in my little Gen Z, queer bubble here in Colorado seems to know who she is. Regardless of how old you are, I cannot recommend her music enough. (Especially if your MTF. I wish I knew more trans masc singers that I liked!) It was life-changing for me the first time I heard it, and it brings me and my GF a lot of joy. I think if I had to describe what her music is like, I'd call it Southern Gothic or church-core or something idk? I've also heard she reminds people of Lana Del Ray due to the "USA" motifs in her music (but way better in my opinion).
If you know of any other cool trans singers or bands lmk! I'm really getting into underscores as of recently, and Against Me, both of which have trans members.
Thanks for reading,
Maven
