Fry's chocolate cream.

What are other chocolate candy bars you like?

Yeah, used to love them. I'm not sure you can still get them though. I haven't seen them around for ages. Kind of like a super size after eight mint but in segments.

I never heard of an after eight mint.  I looked it up.  Is it a UK treat?

It's an after dinner mint. You are supposed to serve them after dinner or after coffee. They are really nice actually, dark chocolate with a mint cream filling but they're very thin squares about 2"x2"

Look into Frango mint chocolates.  They are really good.  I think they are sold online and at Macy's in the USA.

If the chocolate is anything like Hershey's I'll take a pass. A very peculiar taste!

The Frango things look to be the same idea but they are more like a normal chocolate. As Kellie says the after eights are wafer thin 2" squares. You wouldn't eat loads of them. They are in a carboard sort of rack each individually wrapped in a sleeve wrapping, kind of like a record sleeve.

The Frangos are good, I always bought them by the box, maybe a pound of them are in the box.
They are about a half inch square. I have not had any this year.

Linde makes chocolates.  I have seen their shops in Europe.

Yeah Lindt is quite good but nothing compares to UK chocolate in my view. Cadbury, Galaxy, Fry's, Terrys. All awesome. Weirdly Aldi chocolate over here is as good as Cadbury if not better, not bad for ze Germans! I hear Aldi stores are in the US now too. Nestle is really good too but they're swiss. I used to live next to a Rowntrees then Nestle chocolate factory when I was growing up. My mum told me that there were Ooompa Loompas working there!

I used to love them!  At least, I assume we are talking about the same thing.  It was Fry's, it was dark chocolate with a mint filling.  Like a great big After-Eight.  I haven't seen them in ages.  We even joke about it in the store.  My wife will ask me if there's anything else we need, and I'll tell her I'll check for Fry's mint chocolate, knowing full well that there won't be any.

Where????!! 😮  We will pay the postage if you send us some!

Amazon uk has them so you can probably get it shipped over by the box load.

They have the OG ones, the peppermint creme and the orange creme ones.

Fry's turkish delight are lush too. Not quite like real Turkish delight but nice all the same.

Yay, good to know.  Thank you!  I can remember the jingle for the old 1960s commercial for Fry's Turkish Delight on TV.

Sorry, I'm not that old Kathy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I remember the 80's turkish delight one though and the tag line "Full of eastern promise". You have to cut them with an arabian scimitar apparently! lol!

Enjoy your chocolate candy bars!

I happen to enjoy Hershey's milk chocolate.  It is a staple in the USA.

Hee hee!  It sounds like it might still have been the same one.  The one I remember used a theme from Dvorak's New World Symphony.  It was already "full of eastern promise" back in the 60s.

[Edit]  I found the old ad:

So, I did some research on those Fry's mint chocolate bars.  One supermarket chain that we shop at regularly has them on its website, but "out of stock".  Another Canadian site says it has them, but only 4 left, and they warn against shipping them except in cold weather.

There is an English bakery not too far away that imports all kinds of British products.  Maybe I can get the bakery to stock them, now that I know they still exist.  Yum!
