Do you prefer to take the back roads and a lot more time to travel or to take the most direct driving route to your destination, which could be boring Interstates?

What do you end up usually doing?
Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

It depends if I am in a hurry or not. I try and take as many different routes as I can to see different things.

There is a website called dangerous roads.org which has a big catalogue of supposedly dangerous roads but mostly they are roads with spectacular scenery.

I particularly love the spectacular French Balcony roads and the roads built through gorges.

I've been really lucky to ride my bicycle in some of the most beautiful amazing places and I dream of one day being fit and healthy enough to do more of it

I hope you get that opportunity.

Did both when I was riding. Loved the flat open roads from South Yorkshire to East Anglia and hearing the growl of my Harley Davidson Sportster and seeing the shadow I cast.
One of the few people who liked the M62 motorway with its stunning scenery as it got higher.
I always took the scenic route from Blackpool to Liverpool when I went to the Hells Angels clubhouse for open nights. Through Preston and Southport, the sand dunes at Ainsdale and Birkdale and Inceblundell.A very spooky ride home in the dark, always left Liverpool with a full tank, no stopping.

I prefer the scenic roads too if I have the time.

I must admit, I've only used the M62 a few times but it does have very nice scenery, a nice road. I also love the A74(M) where it goes by Moffat, that's very lovely scenery. In fact the A1(M) past Berwick has some nice costal views too.

It depends.  Locally, within the Annapolis Valley, if I am going to some kind of appointment, I will take the "big highway" on the way there, and then take the old scenic road coming back.  (The "big highway" is just a two-lane road with half-width shoulders, way too many rim-killing potholes, and a 100 km/h speed limit.)  If the purpose of the trip is just a pleasant Sunday drive, I'll take the old road both ways, and maybe making it a loop to see more scenery.  The car gets much better fuel economy at 80 km/h than it does at 100.

If I was going into Halifax, which I haven't done for years and I avoid whenever possible, I take the big highway both ways, just to get it over with.  In that direction, it is more like a freeway.

Idaho's Salmon River Byway is one of those scenic backroads.
