I tried, but there was no room for my carry-on baggage.
I seriously tried. There was an area on the far side of a creek that I wanted to prospect. I thought if I could fly a drone over there and get photos and videos, I could then decide if it was worth the effort to get to that side. It would involve hiking about two miles to a ford, plus carrying all my gear.
So I bought a small one online with two cameras (down and forward). It was cheap, but it worked. It painfully reminded me that I am no aviator. I have a hard time thinking in 3D and lack the hand/eye coordination to fly it.
So I gave it to a friend as a gift.
