Thought I would start to compile a listing of the groups I'm able to locate in my little slice of the world. It's going to take me a bit to build, but I'll continue to post info as I find them. The first one I'll add here is Trans Alliance of Greater Rochester TAGR Website 🔗 [Link: transallianceroc.com] TAGR Instagram 🔗 [Link: instagram.com/tagr.ny/]

Thanks Cynthia!  I grew up in Albany and still visit on occasion.  A quick search turned up a resource called Transgender Map.  It looks like it could be very helpful.

In the Syracuse area, we found the Couple and Family Therapy Center to be the most useful resource.

"Some of the issues most frequently addressed at the Center include resolving relationship difficulties; exploring and affirming diverse gender experiences; easing communication struggles; moving beyond family violence or substance abuse; or transforming emotional distress such as anxiety or depression, grief and loss."

Our first contact with them was a counseling session with their founder. She persuaded us to attend the upcoming day of trans celebration. That event had a huge emotional impact on my wife as she deeply recognized the power of everyone accepting and expressing all gender identities.

That day was also when she began her legal identity change. They had volunteer lawyers on hand to assist with the paperwork. What a fantastic step that was!

When met with the founder again, she was a tremendous source of sensitivity and sensibility.

She began MTF HRT but had adverse reactions, so gave up on transitioning medically.
Summer 2022 I went through gender confirmation surgery as a result of cancer.
2024 my wife submitted letters approving of medically transitioning, she's legally changing her name and gender on all of her and our documents and accounts.
January 2025!  SURGERY!
March 2026  Moved from U.S. to Uruguay.
