Making huge strides forward. My social transition is nearly complete, I'm out to everyone save the general public and I'm working on that too. Got a wig now, been in town as full woman yesterday and felt fantastic. Estradiol is magical stuff and I love what it is doing to me. I'm propagating my name change at work. Shopping girl stuff is no problem any longer. The fears and doubts are getting fewer but of course breakdowns still happen. But hey "onwards brave sister" right?

Thank you my dear friends!

Unfortunately the end of the weekend wasn't so nice. We went for dinner in our rural area. The staff was pretty puzzled and apparently they weren't sure it was me; we frequent this restaurant for over 20 years even if not regularly. That was kinda funny and they remained very friendly.

However in the end the only people remaining in that outside space were two guys in their 30s. They were well built, well dressed and well groomed so at first we thought they might be gay. But it turned out one of them was a teacher. He boasted to his friend voting far right, and blocking rainbow events at his school. He boasted he insisted on using the pronoun "it" for trans people. What an ugly human. He looked me directly in the eye from 5 meters distance and I'm not sure if he didn't realise I am trans or put this show up because of me. Anyway that was very unpleasant. I did my best not to let it get to me but in truth I felt absolutely helpless and it made me feel very sad. And angry, because I hate that such people still hold emotional power over me. I wish I would be tougher.

Aw what a horrible end to a lovely weekend Val. These biggoted people are what I fear most. They are emboldened right now because of political situations across large parts of the world. I truly hope that once people see these people for what they really are these far right movements will shrink back into the shadows where they belong. It is worrying that these people are in our schools though, god knows what they are saying to the younger generations.

Don't let that detract from the wonderful weekend you had up until that point. Try to focus on all the good times. Stay shiny!

All my fears and doubts really were unfounded. Of course not everything goes smoothly but obstacles can be overcome. Very few individuals reacted... unpleasantly. BUT: the vast majority of people are supportive, accepting or indifferent.

Everything regarding my transition is in motion. My legal name change is in progress. What a ride!

That's amazing and it's my experience, too. Once I gave myself permission, everything fell into place.
