My wife was on SSRIs to help with anxiety issues.  She also saw a therapist.

Awww if retail therapy worked for me I'd be cured 10x over lol. My clothes shopping is less therapy and more something to need therapy for! Honestly got well over a hundred main garments and charity shop two bin bags full every few months!

Yep. But I hate clothes shopping. It's the Kathy in me. (fanfiction character reference) Plus, I got my clothes sorted out a while ago. I DO need to buy some more grey polo tops. But I wait until they have a sale. They are far too expensive otherwise.

Quote from: tammy753 on Yesterday at 01:41:59 PMI posted this somewhere. My emotional issues meant we couldn't make progress in therapy. I would come through a weekend or holiday so depressed that we would spend my entire session on that and not the underlying issues. My therapist brought it up in my last session after a really rough week, it had been my birthday and the 4th of July and I was really depressed and lonely. I was a sobbing ball and had the "Dark" thoughts again. We both agreed I needed to try something so I could start making progress on my issues. I have resisted until now and it was time for me to accept that I need them at least for now to move forward.

I am not saying there for anyone, I don't even know if they will work for me. I do know I am not on the verge of crying all the time any more, so I am hopeful. I do feel like a emotionless robot now but I think that will go away once my body adjusts to the new normal.

Sorry for telling such personal stuff if that made anyone uncomfortable I am sorry.

I'm not willing to take anti-depressants personally but they make them for a reason, they do work. Getting off them can be tricky I hear which is why I have avoided them.

I find distraction is the biggest cure for depression but it is hard to get motivated when depressed. I used to have a little book and when the depression hit I wrote down what was bothering me, closed the book and wouldn't look back at it until the evening. 9 times out of ten The act of closing the book and dismissing it to deal with later had a calming effect and enabled me to concentrate on doing something else. By the time it came to review it I either forgort to review it entirely or the notes wenret as triggering anymore. It seems like a simple trick but it did work for me.

I have to deal with loneliness a lot and depression rears it's head every now and again but I am no longer getting the months long periods of depression that I once was.

Yeah I was in the never camp but I hit a point where I was paying for therapy and not getting much out of it because of my issues. I am hopeful that I can make progress on my agoraphobia. The pills will help keep me level so we can focus on that issue. I have a goal of starting Electrolysis before the end of the year. I have white facial hair so laser one work.

I would never tell anyone that these are for them. This is what we are trying to get me through my issues of which there are a lot of.

Yep, electrolysis is my only option too as I'm a blonde. Bummer really but hey it's only money ha ha!
