I'm seeing this statement by Labour's Seema Malhotra circulating around the trans support groups and social media. This is seemingly a direct approval for member of the public to challenge anyone they believe is not the sex they assume correct for single sex spaces. So in reality inciting harassment.

"Most people have the common sense to step in when necessary, for example when a person of the opposite biological sex enters a single sex facility in error - and when to alert a member of staff."

This is rapidly becoming a much more worrying state of affairs.

Hmmm, labour.... everyone's salvation. Not.

When the government is handing enforcement duties to the citizenry it's an open admission they have no power or control.

And when the people are confused, they are less likely to make demands.

It's about time some of these legal challenges find their way into court. It is taking ages. When the law changes, and it will, there will be a scramble to provide access again to avoid discrimination.

It is just reinforcing why I want to try and achieve stealth as best I can. I just want to go be able to go to the bloody toilet for crying out loud. It's not like women are sitting on toilets in an open space like the mens urinals. There is total privacy for WC's in the UK. No possibility to peep through cracks in doors etc.

What do they think is going to happen? How many crimes have been carried out by trans people in the UK? I actually can't think of a single story personally. Whereas transwomen are twice as likely as CIS gender women to be the victim of crime. The whole debate is twisted and distorted way beyond the actual reality.

It is based on false assumptions. First, they refuse to admit that transgender women are not men. From that follows why would a "man" want to be in a woman's bathroom? Then they assume it must have some sexual perversion attached. That leads to laws and enforcement. The job of the legislature is to make laws. So, if they are not making laws, they are not doing their job. That leads to laws being written that no one asked for, that solve no problem, or are useful only to further an agenda.

On the other hand, we know that transgender women are women. Which means they use the women's restroom for the same reasons as all other women. There is nothing sexual about it. And 99 times out of 100, we just do our business and leave. No commentary, no issues, not even dirty looks. But there are simple minds that cannot grasp the basics: we are just women, and we have no interest in what other women are doing in there. Seriously, does anyone really care what is happening out of sight in that stall? No. There is no reason to even think about it.

There is plenty of research out there which shows that this is a medical issue and not a choice so why is there still such a public perception that we are choosing to do it for sexual gratification? It's like mass insanity. How on earth have we gone backwards so fast? Everything was progressing nicely and then bam, we are public enemy No.1. All because some insecure CIS women felt shy taking their clothes off in front of a transwoman, well boohoo, she did nothing wrong, was humiliated in the media, outed in public and how is that poor woman supposed to do her job if indeed she still works there? And yet these small minded bigotted women who brought the case are celebrated like heroes. and the worst part is the state, which is supposed to protect us, is joining in on the bandwaggon. It's obscene😡

Oops, better climb off my soap box here!

This reminds me of when I used to take photos at softball games. I went to the bathroom with my full-size camera and large lens hanging from the camera strap on my shoulder. Someone asked 'are you taking pictures?' I replied 'not in here!'
