Hi, my name is Jasmine Heart, and I'm new here. I'm in my late fifties, and I've recently started dealing with my MTF transgender issues. I've been on HRT for 19 months now, and I'm still trying to understand who I am and who I need to be. Love to talk with folks who understand or that have questions of their own.

Charlotte Kitty

Hey Jasmine,

I'm Charlotte😻 and I'm pleased to welcome you to Susan's Place!

Thank you for your post here. I'm so glad to hear you have taken steps to understand your gender and already started HRT. I hope this is all working out well for you so far. Understanding yourself and getting to know what is essentially a new you is one of the tough parts of transition. I can say that from my own personal experience too. But there are many people here with both similar and different experiences. As such this is a perfect place for you to air your own thoughts and feelings as you see fit. In return you'll get reassurance but also some things you probably never thought of. I look forward to hearing more about your journey.

We strive to make this a safe space where you can be yourself without judgement. A place to find information but also share your own thoughts, feelings and observations. No matter who you are, you are always welcome at Susan's Place.

When you click on the HOME button, you will see a page listing all of the various sub-forums by category and topic. Each sub-forum includes a description of what the forum is about, as well as any posting guidelines.

Hi Jasmine,

Welcome!

I also started in my late 50s.  I first grew out my hair, which was almost shoulder length, to being with.  Then I started wearing feminine clothes like bras and panties.  That faded into being more concerned about I look in public.

Hi Jasmine!

Welcome to Susans. Nice to have you onboard.

I'm Sarah, 50 from Northern England. Been on HRT for around 4 years or so. Still in the closet but hoping to change that in the next year or so.

I look forward to learning more about you and your journey, Feel free to join in discussions and if you have questions, ask away.

Welcome aboard, Jasmine!

We are happy to have you here. I started my transition at 62, six years ago.

There will be ups and downs along the way, but this is a safe space where you can get answers, advice, and support. There is no right way or wrong way to do this. There is no timeline to say when something needs to be done, nor any rules about how far you want to go. Many women choose not to transition at all. Only you can decide when it is right or what the next step is for you.

Feel free to ask questions or add your own experiences. We all learn from each other.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Welcome Aboard Sister!... Kudos on your 19 months of HRT!

I hear in your words the determined mindset to find what you need and make your life one that serves you fully... There is a lot of advantage to coming to this quest later in life... By then... We have tried living in many different ways and found that none of those ways truly addressed the core issues... The soul within craved connections to self, to others, to life and the world that were never offered...

Those things are out there patiently awaiting you...

Move forward without fear and with hope in your heart because there is so very much to be hopeful about!... Amazing discoveries and experiences await you and will be worth all your good efforts to find...

Onward Brave Sister!

"The individual has always had to struggle from being overwhelmed by the tribe... But, no price is too high for the privilege of owning yourself" ... Rudyard Kipling 🌸

Let go of the things that no longer serve you... Let go of the pretense of the false persona, it is not you... Let go of the armor that you have worn for a lifetime, to serve the expectations of others and, to protect the woman inside... She needs protection no longer.... She is tired of hiding and more courageous than you know... Let her prove that to you....Let her step out of the dark and feel the light upon her face.... amg🌸

Hi Jasmine.
It's nice to have you here.

I'm in my extremely late 50s and have started to accept who I am.

I'm not on hrt but I love hearing about other peoples experiences on it.

When you get a chance I'd love to read about how you got to where you are.

Jasmine, Welcome! I was also into my 50's before I allowed myself to admit I was trans, and I was scared to death to do it. It takes a lot of courage to put down the mask and step into the light as your authentic self. I'm glad you were able to find the courage to do that for yourself. I'm looking forward to hearing more about your journey of self discovery!

Welcome, Jasmine Heart! I missed this post on June 14th so I'll welcome you now. I'm a decade older, 18 months behind on HRT, and still trying. To figure who I am and need to be. What changes have you felt since being on HRT? I'm so curious!

Although I'm still trying to understand myself, I think I'm using familiar language from a couple years ago. It just rolls off my tongue (and fingers as a type) that I'm confused.

The honest truth is I'm not confused. I'm trans ❤️😃

My body has know for three years that it feels ever so good when expressing femme. It's been a slow but steady climb from hidden panties to how I express now. My name has gone from only my male name to yesterday, when I introduced myself as Krista dozens of times, for the first time.

Sometimes expressing myself honestly as Krista is scary. More often it's joyful.

This site is a great place to ask questions and share openly and even vulnerably.
