All my life I have wondered in amazement at all the lovely cloths women get to wear.  Now that I'm retired I want to live out my days as a woman, openly and without shame and hope to find others like me to learn, experiment and make new life long friends.

Maid Marion

Hi Gina,

Welcome to Susan's Place!

Many of those here have an Inverted Triangle body shape.  Wide shoulders and no hips.
If that is the case there are Internet pages on how to choose clothes that will visually provide balance.  A light colored pleated skirt will have more volume that a black body hugging pencil skirt.

It helps to choose colors that complement your skin tone.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

A big warm welcome from the UK from me Gina,

I'm Sarah, it's lovely to meet you.

Hi Gina

My name is Sarah and I would also like to formally, Welcome you to Susan's Place!

I see that other members of Susan's have also welcomed you as well.

As Lori mentioned, there is a crossdresser section here on Susan's and of course it will be helpful to you.  Just remember there is nothing wrong with wearing the clothes you like to wear.  Now that you have retired, you have the time to live your dreams.

You are right in your amazement at the differences between the clothes men and women wear.  I remember long ago seeing a picture of two sets of clothes in a dimly lit room.  One set was male clothing, greyish in color and laid over a chair.  The other set was women's clothing, bright summer colors laid over another chair.  When I saw that photo I said, "Yes, I would rather wear colored clothes than grey clothes." It really was amazing to see, so I know how you feel about how lovely women's clothes are.

There is no shame in what you are doing.  Wear whatever you like that makes you comfortable and of course you will find others like you here on Susan's.

Once you feel comfortable here, it would be appreciated if you add a little bit more about yourself in the other forums and threads.  I would appreciate it very much as, I'm always interested in learning something new about new members.

In addition members of Susan's will more than likely discuss problems or issues that are similar to yours as most have experienced these issues as well.

Please keep in mind when posting that this is an ALL AGES PUBLIC Forum and the internet never forgets.  Do not post anything that you do not want to be made public.

Take care and all the best for the future.

Once again, Welcome to Susan's Place!

Best Wishes Always

I prefer the clothes and shoes pictured on the right.

I only saw the dress.  I had to really zoom in to see thing on the left.

Gina, welcome.

I bought this silk floral blouse and wore it at the American Rose Society's national convention.
