I've seen the ads and I've been tempted to go - it looks like a lot of fun but as a solo guy I've been reluctant to turn up (this isn't me asking for a date)

I was just wondering if anyone has been and how it is. They are still in London for a couple of weeks so I'm happy hear if anyone has been to a show and what they thought of it

This show is a sort of trans cabaret (not drag) and while it would be undoubtably entertaining, it still has that uneasy feeling for me, that it represents the trans community as an oddity. It promotes itself as "Lady Boys of Bangkok" which links it to the historical Ladyboys, known for their shows and work in the sex trade.

From the clips I have seen, the ladies are truly beautiful and talented, but at this time when trans people of the world are struggling to just be seen as women, non binary, and men, I don't think this type of exposure is beneficial to our community. Like drag, I respect the right of performers to display their art, so would not try to stop such shows, but neither would I go to them.

Hugs,

Allie

Agree. The performers who do drag are usually very talented but I don't think they help the trans community much for our image and desire to be accepted as regular members of society.

They reinforce way too many negative stereotypes.
AMAB and married to AFAB.
I am gender fluid but live primarily in male mode. My wife knows about my gender identity struggles and we are navigating how to come out and be more public about me being trans.
