hi i am nicole a post op mtf trans who had sexual reassignment surgery 1 month ago

as a guy i always identify as a girl i trastioned for two years and finally got the surgery i want my life is more complete as a girl i hated being a guy i always dressed as a girl went by girls name never the name i was given at birth

since my surgery i feel totally complete and i wish i would have done this sooner now that i am a girl anyone have pointers and what a girl should wear help m with makeup tips tell me how to paint my toenails and nail and what bra size i would need becasue i never wore a bra at all

i feel like if i went to buy a bra everyone in the store will judge me for beinmg trans and it weird for me now to use the female bathroom but it feels great to know i am who i am supposed to be not who i was born to be my gender therapist said i will encounter people who are against trans people and now i have changed my birth certificate driver license and all legal documentsto my feale name the obstcalse i over came are judging by other people who dont know what it means to be trans my gender  therpaist told me not listen to what people say becasaue they dont knopw how it feels to be trans and i should apperciate who i am and w3hat is in the future for me

Hello Nicole,

I am very curious what you mean by that you transitioned for two years before your surgery. Was hair, clothing, makeup, and bras not part of all that? Was it just a social transition, such as name change, identity documents, and medical records? Were you seeing a gender therapist or mental health professional during this time? What obstacles did you encounter with transitioning, and how were you able to overcome them?

I'm Sarah, 50 from the UK. It's lovely to meet you.

I dumped a load of possibly useless bra info on one of the threads you commented on. Might help you there.

Make up wise there is a section on here all about make up tips so could be worth browsing there but to be honest I have found that a combination of YouTube tutorials and Google Gemini has been invaluable to me for learning makeup. I only really started learning properly since around March time and have made many mistakes along the way! I would recommend taking selfies as you learn and try to do make up everyday if you can. If you have the pics you can work out which styles work best for you. Don't be afraid to experiment too.

Contact the stores around you to see if you can get a bra fitting.
It is a very competitive industry so any sales person who is disrespectful will likely be out out a job.

Undertone? What is that?

Your skin can have either warm, neutral or cool undertones. These subtle tones affect what sort of make up (like foundation, concealer etc) suits your skin. You can tell your undertone by looking at your veins. If they are blueish or purple colour that means a cool undertone, if they are greenish in colour that is a warm undertone. If you are somewhere in the middle that is a neutral undertone. Cosmetics usually state what colours are for which undertones to help you get a good match.

Ohhhhh! Well, mine look blue. But nowadays, I don't bother with it. The way I saw it, if I can pass in a tiny restroom when being nose to nose with women, I'm fine. I will never, ever believe that someone not tripping out in the women's room is "just being nice". Nah. I don't buy that at all. I've seen far too much hatred in this world to believe otherwise.

i went to victoria secert to buy a bra and panties and everyone there was so nice and noone judged me at all. so nice they took my bra measuremnets and it turns out i am a 44dd, thats after i got breast implant.

i apperciate everyone trying to help me but my gender therapist and all you people here have been very helpful. i hope when i need help or advice again that you people will help me like u did now.

I see that other members of Susan's have also welcomed you as well.

Congratulations.  When one finally has surgery the sense of peace and contentment can be profound.

You have many places to find guidance while discovering your style, including friends, other women, people here and YouTube.  Makeup, clothing, nails and bras all take practice and there is no single correct way to express yourself.

For a bra, measure under your bust for the band size and around the fullest part for the cup size.  A fitting service can also help.  If you are worried about being judged for being trans you do not have to tell anyone.  Your medical history is private.

Most importantly, give yourself time and enjoy learning what feels right for you.

"Be who you want to be" and "Just be yourself" can both be true at the same time, because becoming who you want to be may simply mean allowing yourself to be who you really are.

Once you feel comfortable here, it would be appreciated if you add a little bit more about yourself in the other forums and threads.  I would appreciate it very much as, I'm always interested in learning something new about new members.

In addition members of Susan's will more than likely discuss problems or issues that are similar to yours as most have experienced these issues as well.
