Hi,
Have just joined in the hopes of making/meeting new friends who enjoy getting out in the world.  I am in my early 70's, live what I describe as a blended life.  Have a wonderfully support spouse of 50 plus years but who I would not be with if fully transitioned.  I made the decision that I value being with her more than what I would gain by living full time.  We are "out" to a significant number of people who are not part of the community, we do things with them with me as Kay, and have traveled both in and outside the US.
With that, I am still looking make connections with transgendered people who have lived our shared our experience.  As I have aged, some of the stronger connections I had made are no longer available to get  together and do things with.  Hope to hear form others here who are looking to make connections beyond those in the virtual world.

Hi Kay, Welcome to Susans.

I'm Sarah, I live in Northern England so non virtual connections are not something I can offer you but I hope you find what you are looking for on here. If you don't, you will still find that Susans is a very friendly and welcoming community even if it is only virtual. I have found it very valuable, I hope you will too.

Nice to meet you.

Sarah xx

Hi Kay, welcome to Susan's Place! I'll just gently point out that we're transgender, not transgendered. People aren't Irished, Jewished, or whited, it's the same grammar.

See you around!

Hugs, Devlyn

Hi Kay

My name is Sarah and I would also like to formally, Welcome you to Susan's Place!

I see that other members of Susan's have also welcomed you as well.

Thank you for sharing so openly about your life and your journey.  Lori mentioned the "Significant Others" thread and I think that would be a very good place to read about others who are in situations similar to your own and to meet them.

The decision you have made to remain true to who you are while also honouring the life and relationship you have built with your wife shows a great deal of strength, thoughtfulness and love.  It is also wonderful to hear how supportive your wife has been over so many years.  That kind of understanding and partnership is very special.

Your passion for getting out, meeting people and seeing the world is something to admire.  It sounds as though you have created many meaningful experiences as Kay both at home and while travelling and I hope joining here leads to new friendships with people who understand and share parts of your experience.

I hope you find the genuine connections you are looking for, both here and beyond the virtual world.  It is lovely to have you with us.

Once you feel comfortable here, it would be appreciated if you add a little bit more about yourself in the other forums and threads.  I would appreciate it very much as, I'm always interested in learning something new about new members.

In addition members of Susan's will more than likely discuss problems or issues that are similar to yours as most have experienced these issues as well.

Please keep in mind when posting that this is an ALL AGES PUBLIC Forum and the internet never forgets.  Do not post anything that you do not want to be made public.

Take care and all the best for the future.

Once again, Welcome to Susan's Place!

Best Wishes Always
