Hey new girlfriends!

Today was a girly, girly day! I got my indication letter with transexual diagnosis! Which means, my GP can now prescribe voice therapy and if my lab work is back, I might be able to get an appointment at the endocrinologist later next week for HRT!!!!!

I am so friggin EXCITED!!!

So, excited, that while picking up some groceries for tonight, I also picked up some inexpensive black panties and midis, two string tops, a burgundy sports bra and matching leggings from the Tschibo section. I'm wearing the panties and bra under the leggings and a t-shirt this rainy, cozy evening and it feels just delicious ...

Can you tell I'm in euphoria at the moment?

I'm feeling so girly and so good that I just had to share.

love you all,

Robyn

Maid Marion

Congratulations Robyn on the diagnosis.

I had speech therapy to fix the monotone in my speech by learning to modulate it just like most women do.  I had the proper pitch and knew how to enunciate clearly but women convey a lot of information by modulating their voice.  We can say one thing but mean another.

I found it helps to practice several times a day.  A lot of short practice sessions works better than one long one when you want to retrain how your mind and body works.  Practicing just once a week is pretty much useless when it comes to changing how you do something.

I have passing privilege because I know my voice is very feminine and matches how I look and walk.

Robyn Zola

Thank you Marion for the advice. The place I found is actually really close to where I live, about 5-600 meters. They specifically advertise for transgender voice therapy. So that's cool. I guess I'm pretty lucky to live in this town; I just found a cosmetic salon (also not far) that advertises make up sessions and lessons for transgender as well as a hairstylist advertising for transgender friendly atmosphere as well. So, within the town, it's pretty liberal.

Unfortunately, once you get outside and into the rural countryside, we're talking AfD land - real Nazis and dangerous.

So, for me, passing is very, very important: it's a matter of personal security. So the voice lessons are crucial. Luckily, the body I hated all my life because I'm small, my face is young and soft, and I never really looked masculine or intimidating enough to be a paratrooper and Green Beret, now is a huge benefit and I'm no longer ashamed of not being masculine looking enough, now since the beginning of the summer, I embrace it and love it. I actually love my body, yes, even the cute pouch on my belly. So I hope the hormones cooperate with that as well as the voice lessons.

We'll just have to see.

Maid Marion

If you want to pass you need to learn how to dress appropriately.
Not necessarily age appropriate but wearing what other women wear in that social situation.
Summer parties are a chance for older women to wear nice things and show off their expensive jewelry.

Avoid androgeny as this sets off all kinds of red flags!

If you are going to dress as a women do it with confidence!
Pick outfits that are strongly gendered so folks don't need to guess your gender.

We're one of the few groups of people happy to receive a diagnosis of any
type. 🙂

I was a bit surprised to see transsexual is still in use where you are.

Back in the day my diagnosis was F64.9: gender identity disorder, unspecified. Obviously the medical profession has
moved past classifying it as a
disorder.

From what I can see, F64.0 is Transsexualism.

The VA gave me F64.1 Dual Role Tranvestism in Adolescence and Adulthood when I was denying that I was transgender. That indicates no desire to medically transition, but they gave me hormones to get me started. ??

Since then, they just list Gender Dysphoria, and I am described as a transgender woman.

Sorry, but I have to disagree on that andro point. Here's why: Look around at your environment. When I was growing up (and later, once I knew that I would finally transition), I always paid attention to what the women and girls in my family were wearing. The women never dressed girly unless it was Saturday night and everyone was getting dolled up to go out on the town. The other instance was if one of them had an office job.

My female cousins were a bit of a mixed bag. My cousin on my mom's side of the family was a mix of girly and more tomboyish fashions. There was a pair of girls on my father's side of the family, where the older one dressed much more consistently on the feminine side. The younger girl was more tomboyish. But, she still had her girly days.

I get how some peeps want to dive into the deep end of femininity. But the fact of the matter is this: Sometimes, going uber girly will just make you more clockable. That's just the way it is. A bit of cold water, perhaps. But some people just can't pull it off. Hence why I remember seeing plenty of women and girls who go the tomboy route. I ESPECIALLY noticed this when I was taking the bus downtown to see my therapist or to get to my hospital for bloodwork. It made me realize, quite quickly, that I was chasing something that would just be annoying. (Stuff that can't be machine washed, for one). So, I learned to accept that this was just part of me, and I rolled with it.

Sure, I do have a LOT of women's polos, and that's good enough for me. Darker shades are the rule. My friend always gives me crap for it and calls me a yuppie. LOL Aren't yuppies usually rich?

Sorry about the double post. I can't seem to edit things properly. Oh, well....
Is that something to do with the DSM or is that something else?

ICD Diagnostic codes.
Insurance companies use them for billing purposes, but it also allows medical facilities to be more precise about what the diagnosis actually is.
