Yanhee Hospital – January 2027 Orchiectomy – questions about logistics

Hi everyone,

I have an orchi scheduled at Yanhee Hospital in Bangkok in January 2027. I have also completed a WPATH assessment in Australia and my GP is sending a dossier ahead.
Before I pay the deposit, I have a few logistics questions I'm hoping the community can help with:

Psychiatric assessments – Yanhee requires two in-house psychiatric assessments. Has anyone been able to pre-arrange these before arriving? How many days before surgery did they need to be done?

Arrival timing – For a surgery date of January 4th, what's the latest I should arrive in Bangkok to complete pre-op checks and the psych assessments?

Hotels – I'm looking for a hotel near Yanhee with an on-site restaurant and room service, or at least easy taxi access to the hospital and airport. I don't need to be within walking distance. Any recommendations for a comfortable recovery spot?

Post-discharge support – I'll be coming out of general anaesthesia and need someone to escort me back to my hotel, plus daily wound dressing checks for a few days. Does Yanhee have a partner caregiver service they work with, or should I arrange this independently?

Anything else – Any tips for a smooth experience at Yanhee, or things I should clarify with the hospital before booking?

I'm travelling alone, so any advice on making the recovery period manageable would be really appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

Normally they sort all this for you and you just turn up. You should check the detail though with you coordinator.

Mine is done the day before surgery and I understand is just a handful of questions that you know its permanent and what you really want. As yours is in-house I'm sure it'll all be handled.

As I'm at another hospital my psych evaluation is at another place. But still my coordinator is handling it all.

Yes that's what I've always assumed when it comes to medical tourism - the hospital arranges everything and you pay for a package. Unless the person is doing it outside of a standard package offer?
AMAB and married to AFAB.
I am gender fluid but live primarily in male mode. My wife knows about my gender identity struggles and we are navigating how to come out and be more public about me being trans.

The hospital regulations required someone to check me out after the surgery because of the general anesthesia, but I was back at my house the same afternoon. I did all of my bandage changing myself up until "The Incident". That was when I lost an internal stitch and the pressure opened the incision back up. I documented my entire process in a thread, you can see it at the link below...or maybe not if you don't particularly want to see orchiectomy complications. 😨
