NEW YORK — The Human Rights Campaign's gala New York fundraiser unfolded last weekend in typical fashion: Inside, a swank crowd of almost 1,000 mingled during a formal dinner ceremony while outside about 40 "radical" activists chanted, "You can't spell LGBT with HRC."
