Dr Toby Meltzer and Anne Lawrence did a survey back in 2000 and reported an estimated 90% or so of Toby's MTFs who could achieve orgasm.  I think that's the number. 

I am quite sensate but have had few orgasms since my SRS in 2000.  That could be because my male "hot spot" was located in a non-standard location shared by about 10% of males (according to what Dr. Meltzer explained to me before my surgery).  The fact that I had SRS on my 63rd birthday could also be a factor.

The few that I've had, though, knocked my socks off and left me breathless.

I haven't seen Dr. Meltzer in about 3 years.  Anne Lawrence stopped talking to me after I wrote a less than flattering NTAC article about the uproar over Michale Bailey's book, The Man Who Would be Queen, and autogynephelia.

It depends on the Dr and how good they are and if you have any mental hang-ups or anguish about being able to. The old story of relax and enjoy and see what happens sees most people being able to achieve an orgasm after SRS surgery. The big thing is nothing is a guaranty but due to problems that may happen with any surgery. I have talked to may post op people and have found all so far have been able to achieve an orgasm. This must be weighed up seriously before surgery if it is important to you before going ahead.

Although it is a good question, it raises concerncer on another hand. In your quotwe you state your a crossdresser looking to have SRS and orgasm. CD, SRS, ORGASM, in the same sentence tell me you need a therapist. Are you seeing one, have you, are you on HRT, or is merley a fetish. Those are some questions to ponder.

Did I hear you correctly?  you are a CD who is planning to have SRS.   Well orgasms are always possible.  However, transsexuals don't have SRS to have orgasms; our reasons for SRS are not sexual but gender based.  Therefore, if you are a CD thinking about having an irreversible operation like SRS, please think before you act.  SRS is designed for transsexual people only, not ->-bleeped-<-s or crossdressers.  In the US there are some requirements prior to having SRS, the standards of care, psychotherapy, hormone replacement therapy, the real life test, letters of recommendation , etc, etc, etc.  Sex reassignment surgery is performed only on people who are gender dysphoric, that is people whose inner gender does not match their  birth sex.  I suggest you consult a gender therapist before taking any decisions which you may regret later.

The real question is -- if orgasm were never possible, guranteed,  after SRS (or GRS, if you prefer that terminology,) would you still go through with it?

If your answer to that question is an unqualified 'yes', then you may just benefit from transition and SRS. As others have said in this thread, it ain't about sex, but gender identification.

There are some surgeons in US who will SRS anyone for 25K - 30K. USD
Regardless of standards of care, therapy, or letters.
Has long as you are on HRT and living fulltime for 3-5+ yrs.

Thank you for letting us know what you wrote on your post.  Probably I should rephrase my sentence by saying:  "SRS should be performed only on people who are gender dysphoric"   Wow...I wasn't aware that there were some doctors in this country performing SRS without following the standards of care.  I knew this was true in Asia and South America, but not here in the US.  I think you learn something new everyday, huh?
Anyway...I can't imagine anyone who is not transsexual having to go through all these major changes, including SRS,  to finally find out that he or she made the biggest mistake of his/her life.

A lot of TS's go through with SRS only to find out they can't handle it or have made the biggest mistake of there lives. But you made a very good valid point that if you consider yourself a CD then you really should evaluate why your even considering SRS...
even though Some TS's rather identify themselves with being a CD first. or maybe baby girl was just trying to map out exactly how far she wants to take her "gender disphoria" <-(for lack of a better label\word)

And you be suprised what a few thousand dollars will get you in the US legally!!

I only speak of that from which I have first hand referals from DR's I know that offer the information to me. but I would not be as arrogant and disrespectful as to post such information here.
I live in an area were as I previously stated money will get you almost anything.
( I mean come on seriously I thought everyone knew that has a universal constant)

also you do have quite the few DR's who are sympathetic to Transgender individuals who will write a script for HRT or perform a surgery and forgo the criteria.

However if you insist I'd be more than happy to PM you with at least 2 known surgeons names and numbers in this area that will do SRS provided you have been living full-time for X amount of years and currently on HRT
However no letter or therapy required...!

There was a guy who went by the name "Gelding" here in PA who would castrate men for the erotic high (his) of it. Someone on a list I used to belong to had it done years ago - I suspect she wasn't lying, as a number of list members apparently went with her to "support" the insanity. He wasn't a doctor... just a man with a fetish, a garage, and a sharp knife.

Obviously a far cry from SRS though.

P.S. She did apparently survived the "surgery."

I respect that and can see why you would want prove on such a statement and I do agree to an extent
but, there are certain times when one does not..... lets say....."Kiss and tell"  LOL
Can you at least admit there are DR's,clinics etc that will "legally" start you on HRT without any therapy, letter, etc. So why is it so hard to fathom that you can find a surgeon who will preform SRS for the right price?
(logically you have to consent to such a conclusion)
However, I am not about to "broadcast to the world" the cable techinician that gave me free premium channels so he can loose his job & hence eliminate my options!!

But I guess a woman as "sophisticated" as yourself does not particapate in such dealings with lets say "less than reputable" individuals like the circle(s) I tend to travel in.
