I sent off my letter explaining my intent to transition and a Transition/timeline package to my HR dept today. It will arrive tomorrow and I am kinda nervous about what will transpire in the near future.
I changed my name over a year ago and notified them of that 6 months ago and I still have a job. Albiet in a different dept (all female). I think they know and are expecting this but you can never assume how much or what people know.
I had intended on doing this a while ago but the timing seemed a little off. Then recently I went out with a girlfriend to a local bar and blended in perfectly with all the other women. It was pointed out to me that it was time as I no longer can pass for male. It was time to do this! Figures I would be the last to know!LOL

Please pray for me or at least cross your fingers that Hopefully it will go well.

Congrate another step.

I really felt like outine myself to my whole team today. Somehow I managed to keep it in. HR and my boss knows, the whole team will have to know sooner or later.

Good on ya, Jonni!  Keep moving toward your goal of full acceptance and integration into the world and the workplace as the woman you are.

Well, things went better than I expected. Here I am expecting a pink slip and what do I get? 100% support and a green light from our corporate HR dept. I am so happy, still a little nervous about the reaction from emplyoees, but still happy.

Total awesome Jonni,

I have been thinking about the same thing.  But they can and might change me to another department, which is not a problem, but they may also cut my pay, which I can not afford.

You go, little sister.

Love,
Janet

Yep, Jonni, that's probably true for 99% of us. One of the good reasons to take a sequence of pics while transitioning. Sometimes you can get a better sense of your changes by the comparisons. Then you can get rid of the more 'manly' looking ones and keep the rest if you don't wanna be reminded of the bad ole days!  :)

I'm so happy your HR dept was accomodating and supportive. That must feel really really good and relieving for you.  :icon_hug:

Keep on keeping on, girl!
