Great week

This past week was one of the best weeks I've had as a transgender woman.  I began this past Sunday making my declaration as a transgender woman. On Wednesday, I attended the transgender health fair at the community center. There were plenty of tables with much info available to transgender people. I met a woman who is one of my co-volunteers at the same organization I'm with. I recognized her but she didn't recognize me because she's never seen me dressed. When I told her who I was she was shocked. She didn' know that I was transgender and a crossdresser. I discovered that she has been a transsexual woman fo over two decades. Two transgenders volunteering with the same organziation.Yippiee!!

I was able to share with my spouse more about the health fair. I shared with her what transgender is and the many expressions of gender. We talked for about an hour. These conversations have really been a sign to me that she is more accepting of my wearing women's clothing. Another highlight was when my son's girlfriend revealed that she has a cousin who is gay ad wears women's clothes. Small world indeed but I'm happy that more of my trans sisters and brothers are showing up everywhere. Perhaps it's the start of something.  I  hope so.
