"The issue of sex reassignment surgery relates only to transsexual
people, not to gays. Unlike transgender and transsexual people, gays
and lesbians feel no dissonance between their bodies and their
knowledge of themselves. Many gays share with many heterosexual people
the same inability to understand this dissonance."
