I'm not, your reading that into it. I just assumed that most people didn't know the difference, and even if they were aware they didn't know what it was with Theater being mostly incandescent, TV being tungsten and now more and more with LED, and Movies being with as close to natural as they can get. So Theater needs more brown to tone down the jaundice look that most people have on stage, TV requires color because Tungsten or LED makes white people look like Casper the Ghost, and Movies are very hard, which is why the movie makeup people make the top dollar.
And I'm not sure that being in the theater makes it OK to wear it elsewhere. I'm sure Obama has powder before Meet the Press, but ain't wearing it meet the troops kind of deal. Most rock guys use eyeliner when they are playing on stage, but not off stage as a general rule - emo bands notwithstanding.
