APA Statement, and more

The most significant news over the weekend is a statement from the
American Psychological Association titled "APA Resolves to play
leading role in improving treatment for gender-variant people". Many
who have read this blog for any length of time will recall the recent
supportive policy statements from the American Medical Association
(removing barriers to care and re-affirming the medical context of
treatment) and WPATH. This statement is significant in that, like the
AMA, it is being made by a mainstream organization (as opposed to one
that deals primarily with transgender people).
