Guest Columnist: State more diverse, less safe

Hate incidents and crimes are on the rise in Washington. A recent
violent attack in Belltown against two men who were perceived as gay
and swastikas painted on hay bales in Marysville point this out. The
Southern Poverty Law Center, the Anti-Defamation League and other
local and national experts also point to this disturbing trend.
