I'm pretty angry at my body right now. Lately I've been doing lots of digging, shifting dirt, mixing concrete by hand, drumming like a maniac and my shoulders are starting to feel massive. I'm in no way a big person and a lot of this is probably in my head (170cm ish (5,8'?), 74 kilos), but it feels like I'm losing my neck. In my imagination I'm doing that slow wounded muscle walk big guys do and I hate it. Yet I have to admit it suits my body. I'm strong and I like I like being strong but I just feel so manly <shudder>.  I just feel disgusted.

More digging and concreting to be done at home  :'(. I'm hoping that if I keep working like the devil I will end up a lean mean machine.

Am i to understand that you have dirt, concrete, and shoulders in your head?

For serious, I understand what you mean. I guess you have to do the things that need to be done. I don't see any way around gaining muscle.

You're not doing any HRT stuff, are you?  It's probably the world's longest shot, but it might counteract at least some of the muscling up.

but I don't know what you can do beyond renting equipment or paying someone else to do the sifting and stirring.  You got any money? Because, if you do, i can use some.   :P

yep aparently they can't get the rocks out without letting the air in.

Muscles are the suckage if you want a lean body, which is why I don't do anything that might induce that junk to become worse.

The best you can do is offset it with lots of stretching and cardio. Cardio will chew through muscle, especially if you don't provide it with enough post-workout building material.

Soooo, try doing like 30 min or so of stretching every morning along after a light warmup, and if you're up to it, a brisk walk/jog at some point during the day. While you're on this manual labour gig, maybe consider going vegetarian or vegan for a while, or at least cut back lots on the protein and fat and up your carb intake. Also, try not to eat for an hour or two after you've stopped working.

Ohhh

Vegan works  ;)

Unfortunately not for me. I like to eat food.
The cardio is a good idea though.

My new plan is to get my brother to do all the digging  ;D

My brother was unable to help out today so I ended up doing it all. Felt good at the end though, must be getting fitter. You know you are starting to get fit when hard physical work becomes very pleasurable.

Hi
I do a lot of cardio work at the gym and no weight training. Lost pounds, feel good, no muscle- even better

Geez, I really have the DIY bug. DIY is pretty big in New Zealand anyway, but I am planning my most ambitious project. I'm going to extend my living room. Should save a fortune in paying for a builder. I'm going to put in some skylights, should be neat.
