By all accounts, it was a huge success, thanks, in large part to the festival's full integration into Capital Pride 2009.
Before checking in, Trans Pride offered the "Transformation Lounge," where changing stations, makeup artists and dressers awaited guests eager to look their best.
Workshops focused on things from pre- and post-operative care to makeup hints and tips, and panels discussed the range of the trans spectrum, (which honestly could've taken a day just to introduce - queer, gender-queer, pansexual, pre-operative transgender, post-operative transgender, ->-bleeped-<-... and the list goes on). There were also performances by trans youth, drag performers, and international trans blogger Hangar Queen, as well as health screenings, and a vendor expo.
