A cross-dressing father has been charged over the shooting death of the mother of his two children in the US.

Michael Adams Jr, 37, appeared in Missouri court charged with second-degree murder, the Kansas City Star reports.

Police say Adams's 18-year-old daughter found her mother dead on the kitchen floor and her father sitting near her on the floor, dressed in women's clothing and smoking a cigarette.
