t is especially important to address specific issues that high-risk subcultures of young people experience when addressing suicide prevention. For example, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth are up to four times more likely to attempt suicide than their heterosexual peers, and up to nine times more likely to do so if they come from a rejecting family.
