I haven't tried it, but it seems to me that an electronic epilator would do better than manual methods of epilation (waxing, sugaring, threading, plucking, etc). YMMV, but for me pulling hair out tends to hurt about the same no matter what, I know waxing is quick and that changes it for some people but, not really for me. (I use a panasonic epilator personally, so no waxing for me)
The biggest thing about sugaring seems to be getting the mix of ingredients right, I have no useful advice as to how to do this, but I do know many older women who all seem to have their own recipe and make all kinds of dubious claims as to how necessary they are. What I do know, is that the results they have got are pretty comparable to waxing, but that stands to reason as it is just another form of epilation.
