YouTube Removes Man's Video for Going Shirtless

Dominic Scaia, who created a minor stir in LGBTQ media earlier this year when he challenged Facebook's policy against transsexual men posting shirtless pictures of themselves, has had a video banned from YouTube for the same reason.

Dominic emailed me recently with a screenshot of the warning YouTube gave him:

The following video from your account has been disabled for violation of the community guidelines:

YouTube Removes Video of Transman's Bare Chest

While it's a given that video containing a woman's naked breasts would be banned from YouTube (considering that lady nipples are so inherently sexual as compared to their male counterparts), there's seems to be an even more perplexing double standard at play in YouTube's decision to remove video featuring the bare chest of a post-op transman, as reported by the Huffington Post.

The video, "Shirtless at 2 and half weeks," featured a topless Dominic Scaia, two and a half weeks after his chest reconstruction surgery. Scaia has been similarly censored by Facebook, who temporarily disabled his account after he posted a photo of his post-surgery chest there.
